we Americans learned that ALL governments lose sight of their prescribed responsibility of protecting their citizens and always end up ruling over them. that is why we rebelled and created our own nation, one that kept the power in our hands, not our governments. and stop confusing your 'enlightenment' with contentment at your slavery. it makes you look even dumber.

As if the 2nd Amendment does not have a purpose. An empty gun is not even as good as a baseball bat is. You guys sure like to pretend the 2nd Amendment was a mistake and a mistake that had no true purpose. Wrong on both counts!
