Despite what Gifford's husband said he was going to do, he had YET TO DO IT, the gun store owner refused to sell for purely ideological reasons and now that he's facing a backlash, he's making up bullshit excuses to cover his hypocritical ass.

so NOW you want to go with exact letter of laws and dictionary definitions of words? pathetic. I ask again, why are you against fair and equal application of laws?

you celebrated the reese family for their prison sentences because the SHOULD have known the person buying the guns were going to give them to someone else, but not Mark Kelly?

and tell the ATF that their application of 'straw purchase' is wrong.

And now the same guy who whined about people not following the letter of the law constitutionally, appears to have a problem with someone else shutting down his argument by doing just that.

Except he didn't only have intent. He also made a purchase. That the purchase was later refunded and denied by an FFL is irrelevant. He had both stated intent and a trail of actions that lead to carrying out that intent. That's as much a crime as attempted murder or anything else.

Not according to the gun store owner:

“I determined that it was in my company’s best interest to terminate this transaction prior to his returning to my store to complete the Federal Form 4473 and NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) required of Mr. Kelly before he could take possession of this firearm,”
