Why is it when the courts overturn gun laws they're being democratic but when they overturn republican stuff they're authoritarian and overruling the will of the people?


On a side note, I don't think it matters because I know enough to know gun laws don't overrall make gun crime less prevalent.

the only answer I have for that is way too many idiots on the left/right think they know about the constitution when, in fact, they only want the constitution to mean something different.
 
154 rounds in five minutes (the estimate given by police... yet for some reason NBC chopped off a minute... probably makes it more dramatic)

One every two seconds... deliberate fire, not wildly spraying bullets rambo style...

The ban they put on place on mag capacity would eliminate 9 mm handguns... they just picked an arbitrary number... even if you had a handgun with 9 rounds... you could still fire off 154 rounds in 5 minutes (granted you would have to carry more clips... but that is easy to do). The stupidity of 'you must register your clips'... mind boggling.

That's really slow. I could do that with bolt actions and a revolver.
 
this might be too complex for most anti gunners to understand, but compare the differences in two scenarios....

1) psycho uses military looking rifle to kill a bunch of kids in a school, so proposed solution is to ban certain guns, magazines, ammo, and who can own whatever weapons left that are not banned while exclaiming that it's REALLY BAD to put more guns in school

2) psycho uses military looking rifle to kill a bunch of politicians in capitol building, so proposed solution is to ban certain guns, magazines, ammo, and who can own whatever weapons left that are not banned while exempting government agents AND lawmakers (current or past) and exclaiming that they need more taxes to place more ARMED cops and security on special details in and around capitol building and personal bodyguards escorts.

anyone see the difference?

Would it be more acceptable if it was nine faces? Because that's essentially what Connecticut is saying, 27 deaths is unnacceptable, but nine is ok. They should either try to make a substantive change, or just admit that they're posturing.

No, what Connecticut is saying is that they want to look like they're doing something while actually doing nothing at all. Except shitting on law abiding citizens.
