Interesting how when the repub plans are shot down by the democrats its "trying to work together" but when it's the other way around, the repubs are, "Sending the nation to hell".

once upon a time there was such a thing as compromise and statesmanship

now the repugs attitude is our way or the highway

you might check out the frequency of the use of filibusterers on a year by year basis over the last two decades and see which party has used it and how often

So the matter of sending the nation to hell is a matter of frequency rather than action?

I think there have been a lot more than ten. I recall reading there have been more filibusters in the first four years of Obama's term than the last seventy years total. I'll check the numbers tomorrow.

Judicial appointments? They've blocked virtually EVERY appointment...most notably, Richard Cordray. Cuz we cannot have Wall St. oversight.

The difference is often that when the terms are used for the right, particularly the extreme right which is in far more numbers than the extreme left, the accustions are true.

I don't know any liberals who are socialist or America hating. I know plenty of right wingers, personally, who are racist and ignorant.

So what I is an increase in obstruction across the board. How you blame only one side is beyond me, and I'm sure many here.

who does the filibustering, who votes in lock step against dim proposals, however, some repugs are starting to wake up to the fact that most voters are tired of the gridlock the repugs have imposed on congress through their lack of desire to compromise and are no longer voting in lock step with the party line

have you noticed that any repug congress critter that does not toe the party line gets targeted by the radical conservatives to be replaced in the next primary?
 
For the politically retarded Liberals here, it is not the GOP's job to sell themselves, their principles, nor their constituencies out in the name of "compromise" so Democrats can ram more of their horrible agenda down our throats. It IS the job of the opposition to oppose! And if it means defeating a particularly radical Leftist whackjob of a "president", then so be it.
