Is the US a monarchy?

I've been seriously thinking about this. Is the US an absolute monarchy? Will Obama pass his control over the country on to his daughters?
 
There was considerably more likelihood that the bushes or the Kennedys would adopt that role. But there is a good chance that the British Royal Family will reclaim the colonies (or the US as you like to call them) and if that happens you will, for a brief period, have full employment as all you out of work people will be engaged in building the longest wall in the history of man for people to be shot against.
