Republican Defeat = Social Progress

In the aftermath of President Obama's reelection the Republican Party is taking huge steps forward on the social front.

This is great news for America...

The Republicas, as a group, are abandoning the fight against Gay Marriage and Amnisty for People who have been here due to illegal immigration.

Whats next....

You think it is progress to reward people who violate our laws?

I think that nothing is perfect, but that allowing a path to citizenship is the best way to fix the problem. I wont call it a reward, I simply would call it acknoledging that they are here, they are not leaving and it harms our nation and them to continue to have them here as a underclass.

Id rather do whats in the best interest of American than continue to punish people who outstayed they legal time limit.

You won't call it a reward even though that is precisely what it is. 'Hey, you are here in violation of our laws and since we are not sure how to get rid of you, you get to stay'.

I would bet that at least half didn't 'out stay their legal time limit'. Half came here illegally to begin with, the other half came on visas and didn't leave. The first half especially should not be rewarded with citizenship.

Well, there you have it....Jarod will reward those that have broken our immigration laws but its ok because he won't call it a reward.....

Man, we could fix every problem in the world with that kind of thinking....

We all acknowledge they are here and they won't leave if we don't enforce our laws and people that break the law should be punished....otherwise, wtf have a law.

No, I just belive in doing what is right for our nation and our people over and above being "right" about whether they deserve to get a benefit.

So do I....thats why they should be arrested and deported.....then enter the country legally.

Good luck with that... How much money are you going to spend arresting all of them.... Might as well try to arrest everyone who smokes pot also.

Yep. The folks who want to shrink the government are also prohibitionists. I've come across no better joke than the Republican party.

Obama was doing quite a job on both fronts......more than G Bush anyway......Bloomberg was handling the smokers and the sugar and salt abusers....

guess all that skipped your attention too....

That reminded me of this:

A Native American politician served Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach a dose of historical perspective on illegal immigration Wednesday.

Kobach, a prominent immigration hardliner and one of the minds behind Arizona’s SB 1070, appeared before the Kansas legislature to push a law that would disqualify undocumented immigrants from paying in-state student tuition rates at public universities.

But State Rep. Ponka-We Victors (D-Wichita), a member of the Ponca Tribe of Oklahoma and the Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona, turned the tables on Kobach as she questioned him about the bill.

I think it’s funny Mr. Kobach, because when you mention illegal immigrant, I think of all of you,” said Victors, drawing cheers from the crowd, according to the Capitol Journal.

???....look in your pants.....

I tried. Will you get your lips out of the way?

More strawman bs......is he actually claiming this continent was a "country" in the 15th or 16th century...??? thats quite a stretch.

Do you not understand that without these people you would have to blame yourselves for the mess you are in?

Historically progress has been achieved by the breaking of laws. (Violation is a rather silly and emotive word, dont you agree? )

In that case, acceptance of murder and robbery should be our next big step to utopia.....
