Assault weapons will not be banned...

rana I remember you saying a month or two ago that you recognized that banning guns was infeasible, and not a practical solution. So how about you stop marching in lockstep for a change and recognize this as the only solution that could have come about that makes any sense. guns are here to stay. work instead on getting these head cases mental help, that's something that could actually do some good.
 
Not feasible right now. No one every thought it was going to pass the House, even if by some miracle it got through the Senate. But it's not going to die. That is what getting your policies put into action is about. Chipping away, getting what you can this time, coming back again and again and again...

This coming from the same person who cannot see why it is that people think liberals want to ban all weapons eventually. Why gun owners think you will keep attempting one ban after the next until you end up banning all weapons. Yet Darla and others pretend there are limitations to their ambitions to violate our rights.

Odd, didn't Darla say it was a 'done deal'... all she needed was to use the pictures of dead kids and her political views could be completed on this issue?

Reinstating the assault weapons ban would not ban all weapons. I believe eventually it will be reinstated yes. I don't know if you were alive during the 90's? but we actually had an assault weapons ban, and you could still have a gun. So...yeah.

with the deteriorating trust in the government by a majority of the population, I disagree with your belief that the AWB will be reinstated. In fact, I gather that not only will military style weapons be even more popular, we could see a return of automatic weapons being available again.

It is what I am doing, I am working on mental health issues, but I would still like private sales regulated. I would like background checks.

I am not marching in lockstep with anyone
