The restaurant is not noted for its party politics but certainly for its history with the most creative people of the 20C. Picasso, Scott fitzG, and shed loads of others. Geraldine Winner happened to be there to assist 'er indoors when suffering from a surfeit of sun and and an attack of the twinging screws, Winner simply chortled with a shared joke or two.
The altar boy would not have tasted champagne until he became moderately well known.
