That said, yes, the public did give control of the House to the Reps.
 
I'm having a difficult time picturing Desh making these same arguments about Tip O'Neil and the Democrats during the '80's when Republicans controlled the Presidency and the Senate and the Democrats the House. Or in the early '00's when Jeffords left the Republicans and the Democrats took over the Senate with the Republicans controlling the House and the Presidency.

I do not think the Reps should tell the Senate what to do Desh, nor the President. But I do expect them to put forth ideas, then have the Senate make changes to them (if they feel necessary) and then for the two Houses of Congress to reconcile differences. That is what I expect Desh. Then, when they have done that, then I expect the President to either sign it into law or veto it. If the President vetoes it, I expect him to explain why he did so and to propose changes that he would like to see.
