Ooh sore spot!!
I studied humanities because, at age 27 it was the best fit.
At 17 in the UK, I joined the Army.
I had sufficient o levels and things looked promising with the A levels.
The problem was that to fund my chosen degree at age 18 I required either the cash to pay for it or parents to pay for it/ apply for the grants.
With a father who left us in childhood, and a mother who disapeared when I was 15 and my brother 17 the parental requirement screwed us.
When I started 6th form my brother moved to London and joined the met.
I got through The 1st year of A levels, three A s and one B
Physics, History, Geography were A grade subjects, chemistry a hard B.
Two A levels are university entry requirement, I was looking at 4.
The ability to pay was non existent, the lack of parents made it impossible to apply for a scholarship.
My brother and I decided that I should become a bandsman in the Royal Marines.
I was an accomplished euphonium player, but I failed the audition.
I aced the potential royal marine commando cadre prior to the music audition and was offered a job as a marine.
I didnt like that idea so I applied for training in the Army.
After phase 1 I applied to transfer to a parachute regt intake and was accepted.
I repeated phase 1, aced phase 2 with 7 A grades out of a possible 8. Winning best recruit.
Aced Pcoy, joined the regt.
UTRINQUE PARATUS.
You have nothing little man!
I have it all.
You obsess about your education, your income, it's nothing.
I don't need it.
You need your income!
My work is to prevent boredom.
You could never understand real happiness.
That's why you joined the obamacult.
My hats off to you for doing well in a very challenging childhood.
However you are still a dumbass megapartisan.
