(1) Spending is only one side of the deficit equation. Perhaps we have a revenue problem.
(2) At best you've proven that we had a spending problem, not that we have a spending problem.
(3) We're projected to spend less during Obama's second term than what we spent under Reagan during his second term as a percentage of GDP. Funny I don't ever hear you bitch about the spending problem we had back then. And the economy is substantially worse now than it was then.

I don't think spending is a problem or that revenue is a problem, I'm just pointing out that looking at deficits doesn't tell you if you have a problem and, if you do have a problem, whether the problem is spending or revenue.
Did we have a spending problem in 1943? I mean, we had a deficit of 30% of GDP! Was it a spending problem? A revenue problem? No problem?

LOL... the projections are that we will continue to have above average spending as a percentage of GDP. Given the apoplectic responses of Dems every time spending cuts are mentioned, I wouldn't count on better spending habits any time soon.

I don't think spending has been insane. My point was simply that looking solely at deficits, as you did, will not tell you whether we have a spending problem.
Then cite the projections to show we currently have a spending problem. Citing past spending doesn't tell us squat about today.

Jesus Christ, SF. I already expalined to you why that information is inaccurate. You're completely impervious to reason. GO check out the CBO report from Feb. 5. It has updated projections and I know that you have the historical budget data at your fingertips. You're wrong. Reagan's spending exceeds Obama's projected spending by about 1.4% of GDP.

Acrobat shit the bed so I can't, but it's right in the CBO report you made a thread about the other day. The projected deficits are easy enough to find as are the historical deficits from the OMB that you've linked to already.
