Radical liberal
Its been almost 50 years sense the civil rights movement that every one would have realised how stupid racism is.But no we’ve taken it to a new and stupider level. It use to be just White against Blacks. Now days its everybody racist against everyone else.So much for a kinder and enlightened society.
When will we ever learn?

I blame Bush!

Ummm racism is in every country, and every 'race' practices it. Europeans, Africans, Asians, Etc. It's not some American phenomenon.

Well since the United States invented slavery and racism is it any wonder?

Wrong on both counts.

Sorry, fellow libs. I'm going with Billy on this one.

Racism isn't just prejudice against blacks.

It's hard to see racial tensions going away anytime soon. The Republicans, for instance, used what's called a southern strategy during this past election. So, if anything, they're only getting more pervasive.

I don't know if people on this board are familiar with a southern strategy. Could you explain it to us?

I did in detail a couple of months ago. You don't remember?

One of the biggest challenges on the internet when reading just words is getting the author's tone. In person it is obviously much easier to pick up whether the person is being sarcastic, funny, mean in tone etc.

In this case I was probably being a dick and mocking the poster with my question because he wrote 'what's called a southern strategy' as if political junkies (all of us who spend large amounts of time on this board) wouldn't know what the southern strategy is.

Actually it is quite easy... Darla and lorax always know the tone.... unless you use sarcasm... that one really confuses them.

It's a pity that Americans don't travel more as you might see racism in other countries. India is one of the most racist countries on Earth for instance, there is also profound racism in China and Africa. I suggest that you read up about Idi Amin, Kenyatta and the Kenyan Asians and the caste system in India and Pakistan. I was watching something quite recently about certain African tribes that use other tribes as slaves, I bet you haven't heard about that?
