Proles, all of them. The dopey unwashed masses get a new reality check:

Sometimes, watching a Democrat learn something is wonderful, like seeing the family dog finally sit and stay at your command.

With President Obama back in office and his life-saving “fiscal cliff” bill jammed through Congress, the new year has brought a surprising turn of events for his sycophantic supporters.

“What happened that my Social Security withholding’s in my paycheck just went up?” a poster wrote on the liberal site DemocraticUnderground.com. “My paycheck just went down by an amount that I don’t feel comfortable with. I guarantee this decrease is gonna’ hurt me more than the increase in income taxes will hurt those making over 400 grand. What happened?”

Shocker. Democrats who supported the president’s re-election just had NO idea that his steadfast pledge to raise taxes meant that he was really going to raise taxes. They thought he planned to just hit those filthy “1 percenters,” you know, the ones who earned fortunes through their inventiveness and hard work. They thought the free ride would continue forever.

Big whoop...

Everyone understood the payroll tax deduction was NEVER going to remain in place for the rest of eternity.

It helped out the poor and middle class during the recession.

As usual however, hateful partisan Righties are trying to pretend the comments of a dozen "Liberals" on the Washington TIMES website means every single Liberal everywhere is just as angry...LOL!

Silly, self-absorbed Righties.

It was TEMPORARY.....just like G.Bush's tax cuts WERE SUPPOSED TO BE......

You claim it helped out the poor and middle class during the recession but it left out a very large percentage of the poor and middle class....
Only those with a job got the tax cut....not seniors only getting SS, or those on a pension but not working, etc.....
AND .... the most important thing it did was PUT SOC. SEC. in the red.....you think thats a good thing ?

Now every federal worker got a raise again for 2013....like its them that need help....they already make substantially more that comparable jobs in the public sector...
Hows that workin' for ya ?

Its his tax bill.....his party wrote it, and pushed it through.

Incoherent, as always. You seemed to support letting the temporary cut to payroll taxes expire. Apparently, it was somehow unfair that it was not extended to welfare recipients, like yourself.

Face reality, maybe? :truestory:
Well....it certainly is to Democrats political advantage the the current Presidents predesessor was the most incompetent US President since Warren G. Harding. All Dems have to do to give the nation a collective shudder of fear is ask "Do you really want to go back to the George W. Bush administration?"

Carter was and Obama is every bit as incompetent as Presidents. Obama is the most fiscally irresponsible President in the history of this country.

Judging by the posts in Democrat Underground your comment that everyone knew the payroll tax cut would be temporary is incorrect. They apparently did not know

You mean when unemoyment was 4.5% and the deficit was $142 billion.? Yes, I shudder to think

Incoherent ?...Not at all in that is was a response to you post....
Take some equally simple minded approach and blame it all on Obama?

It was Obama that cut the payroll tax, no ? It is reasonable to blame Obama...for both the reduction and then reenstatement of FICA tax.

And to continue...yes it was grossly unfair.....I like Presidents that consider all taxpayers when he wants to cut the taxes....not just the ones hes trying to
buy off for votes....

Like all pinheads, you'll notice I DIDN'T say a thing about welfare recipients.....YOU DID....in order to mis-represent what I said......
as a matter of fact, I specifically mentioned the seniors and pensioners as
the poor I was referring to....not those on welfare.

My taxes just went up....
I thought they weren't supposed to. /sadface

I just received this from my employer...

"As many of you likely already know, new legislation was passed by Congress this week. With that, the purpose of this email is to let you know that you will see changes in the calculation of taxes impacting your pay on or before February 15th, 2013. Please note the following specific FICA tax rate changes below:

2013 Employee Social Security Tax Rate
The reduced Social Security tax rate of 4.2% has expired. You will see a 2% increase in your Social Security tax. The employee social security tax rate has returned to 6.2% on all earnings up to the taxable wage limit of $113,700.
Example: If your gross pay is $1500 after all pre-tax items, under the old rate, you would have paid $84.75 in Social Security taxes. In 2013, the Social Security portion of your FICA tax increases to $114.75 on that same $1500."
