No, that was not the point. Read the thread title. Fox referred to the WBC as left wing. That conclusion does not follow from the premise that Fred Phelps was/is a Democrat. There are a number of suppressed premises that would be necessary to complete the argument. Even if I were to provide them for you in the most generous way the argument is still unsound.
Fred Phelps is not the WBC. I would assume their members have voted for a variety of parties. But they don't seem very partisan.
Just because one is/was a Democrat does not make one left wing.
The WBC also picketed the funeral of Gore's father.
I don't really think it would be accurate to say the WBC or Phelps are right wing either. It is accurate to say that he and the WBC are socially conservative.
It's not relevant to the point, but to answer your ad hom I am neither left wing nor a Democrat. I would not vote for Gore now and the views he shared with you and Phelps would have only made that less likely.

"Most" Christians are not against those things. A majority of Americans favor gay marriage and contraception.
Theirs is an extreme brand, which I noted before, still, they are socially conservative.
Some would find comparisons between beastiality and homosexuality or arguments that a woman provokes rape by her dress extreme. Others think it mainstream or at least acceptable. If we moved in the direction of the WBC they and the other assorted nuts would seem less and less extreme.

No, it's about the hackery of Fox news and their attempt to misinform. You know there are two studies out now that show that people who depend on Fox news are less well informed than those who watch no news at all. The Toledo Mosque arsonist claims that Fox and right wing radio is where he got all his news. For those who blame our media for violence, eg, the NRA, it might seem we should do something about that but I think the best thing to do is ridicule the true believers and point out the lies of the right wing media.
You tried to change the subject with your weak premise but left huge gaps in the argument. It's not just that Phelps is not the WBC, which is enough alone to leave your argument invalid, it is that having voted Democrat does not make one left wing. To a knee jerk reactionary like you it may but to anyone slightly more thoughtful, no. There is no way to fill in your gaps and make your argument sound. Left wing is poorly defined to begin with. But to put someone in that group it would have to mean someone who emphasizes left wing positions. It would be fair to say Al Gore was and is rather left wing. But he never made the exclusion/repression of homosexuals a focus and classifying him as left wing might change if he had. The WBC is all about their socially conservative positions.
I have not created any narrative. History has. You are sore over past losses, but right now, today, it is the right wing that rails against homosexuals. I have been encouraging the Republicans to shut up their social conservatives or get rid of them. Change the tune. Sure, your opponents will still look back on your ugly history and the Rove strategy just like you are fond of 30 year old comments from Gore or quoting LBJ, who has been dead longer than many voters have been alive.
