I saw President George H.W. Bush at a Cowboy's game earlier this year, and I was concerned. He looked frail and feeble. Add him to your prayers.

"Our sense of government has no sense unless it is founded in a deeply religious faith, and I don't care what it is. With us of course it is the Judeo-Christian concept, but it must be a religion that all men are created equal."
President Dwight D. Eisenhower

41 was a decent guy

the proof is he raised taxes when they needed to be raised to help the country even though he Knew it would end his poltical carreer in the republican party.

He placed country over party.

He is also a world war two vet.

Good travels my fellow American.

I fear his time is near.

I hope for peace for his family and a good journey as the vikings used to say.

Rune 'Thanked' his post. That puts her in the same category. Pretty sad.

You really think I am a female? You are far more idiotic than I thought.

Bush I presided over the giant sucking sound caused by factories closing, jobs leaving and investment capitol being invested in other countries. It may not have been his idea, but he liked the idea nonetheless and did nothing to stop it. You of all people should be well aware of his contribution the the destruction of our manufacturing base.

Furthermore, as a recent president, and father of the most destructive individual to ever alter the national landscape, he should have influenced dubya.

Bush and Bush combine to equal massive fail which we are unlikely to recover from ever.

Hey I thought you were a female also.

Im not sure why.

Yes 41 was on the dumb side of the aisle but he did do some things for the country.

He fought in WWII and that in its self deserves him a modicum of respect.

He sacraficed his career to do the right thing, a plus

He joined with Clinton to do good things for the country and world after his presidency.

Anyone who has a child knows damn well you can not make your grown up child behave in a certain manner.

I think at times he was actually horrified by what his son was doing.

Bush 43 always seemed to dispise his father on a certain level.

There were many of his policies I disagreed with. But to wish him death really crosses the line. That is what Osama bin Laden wished for.

Watch some of these to start getting a clue.

May he enter heaven. Soon.

Comments from both sides of the aisle.

Equality, rightly understood as our founding fathers understood it, leads to liberty and to the emancipation of creative differences; wrongly understood, as it has been so tragically in our time, it leads first to conformity and then to despotism.
Barry Goldwater (R) – Late Senator & Father of the Conservative movement

“We must not confuse dissent with disloyalty. We will not be driven by fear into an age of unreason if we remember that we are not descended from fearful men, not from men who feared to write, to speak, to associate and to defend causes which were, for the moment, unpopular.”
Edward R. Murrow

This thread is reminding me of when Reagan died. There was this poster on aol, Che, who really posted some nasty shit about being glad he was dead. Then there was another poster, very dear to me IRL, who posted this hysterical thing in the form of an advertisement. Something about "feeling depressed because someone you didn't know was still alive died" and it got better from there. Well the two of them took it with both barrels from most of the board. Bad boys I guess. I must love the bad boys, though truthfully I never would have said so, but maybe a little bit.

Anyway, I hope Bush lives longer and mostly because I cannot stand those state funerals that go on for a month and the canonization of the person who died. It does annoy me.

Edit to say that on the aol board I did ask them to at least give it a week in respect for those who loved him. That was my Anglscarlett "oh i'm so nice" personality.

I was so much older then, i am younger than that now.

He was the first politician I voted for. Voted for him in the 1980 primary over Reagan. A good an decent man who governed responsibly and was vastly more capable than his son.
