Are we as citizens responsible for the National debt?

OK. First I want to guys to read this link. This is a capitalist country that tried to live beyond their means with debt.

Now they are refusing to pay their debt. My question is......Did all Icelanders benefit from this national debt or just the Oligarch's as they claim? And did their governments have a right invite foreign creditors into the picture? this is what happens when a country cannot make their own currency interest free. A majority of national debts consists of mostly interest payments to international bankers that lent you money made out of thin air. Should this debt be recognized? Even in America, the actually debt was paid LONG ago, the trillions of dollars already paid in interest(via taxes) and the trillions of dollars in interest that still has to be paid, in my opinion shouldn't be recognized. Therefore should America pull an Icelandic move and nationalize their banking system as did the Icelanders and refuse to pay the majority of their debt? And then create their own currency interest free? What are your thoughts. Please watch the video before commenting.

Here is another question. The WTO(World Trade organization)has been coming down hard on our countries when we try to promote domestically made products, saying it is against the trade agreement. Did we the people agree to this? That goes against our sovereignty. This is a major step towards globalization. And I'm not sure I support it under their economic system that seems to an unstable economic climate for earthlings. What are your thoughts?

P.S. I must go now but I will be back in a few days hopefully. Make sure you watch the youtube link before commenting.

Good for them!!

Here's how I see it. A person can own as much garden as they want as long as there is enough garden for everyone to have enough to grow food on to live. During the Second World War some countries had rationing. For example, one pound of butter a month or so many pounds of meat per month. It didn't matter how much money a person had they couldn't buy more than their share. It stopped greed and hoarding. This is where the world is heading.

The people of Iceland are telling the greedy bastards they don't own it all. It's as simple as that and other countries are going to do the same.

There is no shortage of anything as far as things needed to live/survive. Remember the governments of the past saying it was impossible to house everyone? When people asked why there weren't enough homes/shelter for everyone the reply was always, "Don't be silly. It's impossible to house everyone!" Of course, we saw the Real Estate boom and there were so many houses people were buying two and three homes. How was that possible? Well, we know exactly how that was possible. If people could afford two and three homes they could afford to help build homes for the people who had no shelter.

The scam has been exposed. There is enough food for everyone. There are enough materials to provide shelter for everyone. The lies and bullshit are over and if anyone thinks they can win a fight against the poor they don't know what it takes to win a fight. The people who are struggling to support their family are much more motivated to fight than the person who has more than they need. Desperation makes a mean opponent.

People know that earning money, in many cases, has little or nothing to do with hard work. Luck and circumstance along with "juggling" money are the prime factors. Nobody worked fifty times or a hundred times as hard as the next guy. Nobody. The person "earning" five million a year is not working 100 times as hard as the person earning 50 thousand. It has nothing to do with class warfare. It has to do with putting a stop to greed and if a country has to say to hell with it, so be it.

The IMF wants to move into Iceland and, basically, control it. That's what the IMF does. It is the power behind the "throne". They take over a country as far as implementing work and pay and laws, etc. and have a puppet run things. Well, the party is coming to an end. They can take their almighty buck and shove it!

Whew!! I feel better now. :) On that note I will be going on vacation for a week, leaving early tomorrow. I'm going to live a week on 3-D time. :D

TIP: Being holiday time it's not unusual for some to wake up one morning feeling a little depressed. The high of the excitement to, maybe, a family quarrel. If the condition persists I suggest a little cognac in the coffee. It warms the body on a cold, winter day and puts a little zip in your step.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all. It's time for families to get together but keep in mind that if your first cousin starts to look "good" you've had way to much to drink! ;)

Yes, well Iceland banks owe about £3 billion to people in the UK, they had a referendum asking if they should pay it back and unsurprisingly the people voted no.

The childish adolescent logic and reasoning of Apple is just mind boggling....its as frustrating as trying to explain to a 4 yr. old, the science of why an airplane flies or what
keeps the planets from hitting one another....

his ability to take a complicated issue covering decades of economic evolution of a nation to create an analogy
about gardens that does nothing but endorse his socialist views is astounding.....

By the way....who voted no.....people in the UK or in Iceland ?
