Now Politics In Sports?

Almost the silliest thread I ever read. Well, maybe not the silliest but it ranks right up there. Tebow's a good kid and likely conservative for a lot of the same reasons that I am, but he's a bad quarterback. I am one of his biggest fans (now that he's in the pros...rooted against him in college) and tremendously enjoyed the success he had helping the Broncos reach the playoffs last year, but you got to call 'em like ya see 'em. Politics plays no role in his riding the bench.

It is a terrible thing the way that Ryan has handled Sanchez and Tebow though. I have never thought Tebow was a pro player, I did support him when he was a Gator, my nephew is the doctor for the Gators, but hated, he he, him as a Bronco, but now I just feel sorry for him!

It was obvious during last night's New York Jets game that Politically Liberal Mark Sanchez was a bust, no pun intended, he stunk the field up. The Hollywood Liberal Eva Longoria's ex boyfriend Sanchez gave the game away with a fumble and 4 interceptions, yet Rex Ryan the Head Coach would not put in T-Party favorite Tim Tebow to quarterback the team, and the Jets Fans wanted Tebow in. So It looks like to me that the Head Coach, and other management people, possibly including the Jets owner are Lib Demos and I hate to say this, but they did not want to showcase a religious clean-cut Conservative T-Party favorite like Tim Tebow. I see the same thing in other sports, where there seems to be a bias against certain players who happen to have acknowledged their Conservatism, as compared to Liberal Athletes, IE future Hall of Famer "Brett Farve" who sat on the bench for 5 years or so. Some Liberals are truly sick mentally, and there may be no cure because they have been brainwashed to think Liberally during their years in school, by their Liberal Teachers. I am Right On here, and I gots lots mo fo ya.

OR it could be because Tebow sucks as a QB???

Give me a break. Tim Tebow was an exceptional athlete in college because of his size and his ability to run people over. As a passer he's mediocre by NFL standards. He has issues with accuracy, particularly on middle and short deliveries though his long ball good and he can hit on stride when he has clear vision and when he has time to set his feet. That doesn't happen often in the NFL and his inability to adjust indicate problems with his timing and foot mechanics. He has trouble seeing the windows in coverage before they open nor does he seem to be able to throw his recievers open and his throwing to the sidelines is attrocious. He's only hitting about 30% and those are important passes to nail to gain first downs and keep momentum. Tebow also takes to long to make his reads and that is compounded tohat he moves poorly in the pocket. His first step back from the line of scrimmage is short and hell that's high school shit. He does poorly at moving up in the pocket or side to side in the pocket and is easily derailled by pressure or a hand in his face. As a runner he has decent atleticism but his running style is that of a bruising fullback and lets face it, Tim may be a tough and a hard nosed runner but at the NFL level he's not running away from anyone and he's not going to run over them. Tebow also has problem making reads across the entire field. In that respect he's not Tom Brady but it's understandable considering Florida's single read system. He has made significant improvements but has a long ways to go. Quite often a man will be open on the opposite side of the field and Tebow fails to see them. Then there's his throwing mechanics. Tebow looks like he's throwing a bowlling ball overhanded instead of a football. Have you seen all the wobblers he throws? Tebow does well passing as a pure north/south passer but he sucks at going from side line to side line. As I pointed out earlier, his completion percentage doing that is about 30%. That's a pretty good indicator of mechanical problems.

If Tebow wants to be a top tier starting QB he has a lot of timing and mechanics issues he needs to work on and since that's like teaching someone how to speak a new language.....that's a tall order. He has a excelleng understanding of x's and o's and knows his progressions well and his athleticism and strength are strong points but a QB is hired to throw the ball and Tim has a lot of work to do there. He either needs to be in a situation where someone can train him to learn superior throwing mechanics (if he can) or an offense that will gear the offense towards his special athletic skills (unlikely to happen).

So if anyone if politicizing the situation with Tebow.....it's motor mouths like you.

Have you ever coached or just couch coach!

Great summation of Tebow! Could you debate Skip?

Fuck. I'll just say it.

If TeBOW spent less time slobbering over the Bible and more time learning the goddamn playbook he'd be playing more.

Plus he sucks. Big time. More than me.

That's bullshit. Tebow is a young man of good character from what I've seen and he should be applauded for that. I have also heard nothing but good report about his work ethic and his understanding and knowledge of the game. That's an uncalled for cheap shot.

Thank you. Tebow is obviously open about his Christianity. I get that it is a turn-off to some. Fair enough. Considering all we've seen recently I'm not sure why we want to put down someone who lives his life in a positive manner like Tebow does and the work he does for those in need.

exactly... it is not his understanding of the game or the playbook, it is his mechanics.

Don't backpedal now. Did you watch the game? Why weren't you aware that Johnson headed the NY Romney campaign?

Because you're a moron? Tebow sucks. Get over it.
With that cat avatar, you must be a gal, a Feminazi with huevos or you are one of those gay Lib girleymen that have infested the Democrat Party? Anyway, Tim Tebow, in Jacksonville I hope, will come back to Defeet your Jet-sins. My question to you, why ARE there so many naging effeminate Liberal Men? Also, is that why Liberal women like Conservative men Moore, and I ought to know?

The Liberals tried to screw the religious Kurt Warner and the Conservative Brett Farve, and both turned out to be Hall Of Famers. They said the same thing when the never played Farve for at least 4 seasons and never even drafted Warner, splain that one fo me?

Amazing how the average American male knows all the sports trivia by heart and knows so little about politics.

I still maintain that Tebow would make a world class tightend. But his mechanics as a QB leave a lot to be desired.
Generally speaking your tight end is your best all around athlete on the offense and Tebow is an excellent all around athlete. Put him at TE and comparisons to Keith Byars comes to mind. Byars could block, catch the ball over the middle, was fast enough to go wide out and could drop back and take a handoff to run the ball or take a pitch out. He was probably the most versatile football player I've seen in the last 30 years and his versatility parlayed into a 12 year NFL career and a lot of money. Even though he never got a lot of hype or Pro Bowl nominations he was an outstanding ball player at both the pro and was paid accordingly.

Listen, idiot. Your OP accused Jets' ownership of being liberal.

That alone disqualifies you from participating in this thread. Why not run along, and let the adults have intelligent discussion?

So, how much do you suck? You just said that you suck a lot, may I ask how many of the Lib Demo girleymen do you do a night? HA HA HE HE HO HO.....................................

OMyass, I must have hit the Feminazi G-spot, is that why you are such a nag tonight? It has been a long time inbetween, hasn't it? I know all about the inadequencies of Liberal Men, they just cannot cut the mustard, unless they smoke a doobie.
