The last time the Obamanauts were celebrating Obama's negotiating style it resulted in the largest sweep of the House in US history .. the 2010 midterms. Republicans still maintain control of it to this day.

(2) The last offer wasn't Obama's first offer. It was the last offer.
And I say these things as someone who is (1) not a fan of how Obama has conducted various negotiations with the House Republicans and (2) a strong opponent to any Social Security benefit cuts.
