honestly I think it's because first timers build it up to much and part of it is placebo.

Ironically my first time it was meh. It was my second time where I was like wooooah
 
billys point is valid. Yes you can get a slight relaxing effect sometimes from even one beer, but it's a drink, and it lasts longer as it goes down, and clearly it can be enjoyed on purely a taste level as well... same thing with wine. People can primarily drink beer for the taste. People smoking are usually doing it specifically for it's effects... not "mmm this weed tastes good"
 
although in most peoples cases drinking beer is a combination. getting buzzed AND enjoying the taste while it happens.

if I drank to get simply drunk I would always be having natural ice or bud light or something which I assure you, never fucking happens.

I smoked a large amount for the first time. I was pretty young and out to prove something. I don't believe it was a placebo because my mental state was to show that I could handle it. I just overdid it.

It's not valid. It's just a lie people condition themselves to believe. People drink for the effect whether small or great. Many if not most people have to learn to enjoy the taste of beer. Even wine is not as naturally appealing as say soda.

One can learn to enjoy the taste of alcohol, marijuana, crack or cigarettes but there is no point in lying about the primary motivation or rationalizing the choice. That only leads to hypocrisy and abuse.

I smoke whenever I want now. It being legal won't make much difference.

i don't get your point? I readily admitted people that have weed are in it for the effects. vaping is:

A) more efficient
B) can produce better highs
C) you can put it into edibles after vaping.

Vaping doesn't really have anything to do with taste.

yeah but in "handling it" you built it up as something to be tackled and to be fought with.
