That cartoon was an edited version of Romney's comment, I believe it referred to voters, not taxpayers.
As I recall, he said "I'll never get their vote". So I think you got things twisted. If Romney's referring to taxpayers, why would he include those who don't pay taxes? Isn't the claim that 47% of Americans pay no taxes?
I can't tell if you're actually being serious or just trolling me right now. I had given you more respect respect previously to think it's not the latter but now I don't know.
In the middle of ken's cartoon there is a giant circle where inside it says 47% = 147 million Americans. Quite clearly when the discussions been had about what group pays what percent of federal tax revenue they were not including young people who are in school or are too young to go to school thus don't work and don't pay taxes. Thus I was mocking ken's cartoon for being wrong on those numbers. Nothing more nothing less. Yet you've somehow read something into my comments completely opposite of what I said.
Well, here's the thing cawacko: Mitt Romney phrased it wrong in his comments. He didn't say "workers" or "tax return filers." He said "people." So based on what he actually said, the 147 million thing is OK, but based on what he probably meant, you are right.
Gore invented the internet. Palin could see Alaska from her house.
Neither of those people said those things....
Romney really uttered his gaff.

Yes...he saved me a lot of typing. Now do you see what I meant? You were basing your figures on tax filers. Romney wasn't. If he were, he'd have to subtract the tens of thousands of wealthy who pay no taxes.Did you read what Dungheap wrote?

Of course Palin could see Alaska form her house. Everybody who lives in Alaska can see Alaska from their house. See how easy it is to make a silly mistake? She didn't even make that one, any more than Bush ever said "strategery"...
I agree, but Romney really said the 47% thing, and he did not make a mistake, he said what he intended to say!
The apologism is still out in force.
Romney proved one thing to me in both the '08 and '12 campaigns - he will say absolutely anything, to anyone, in order to get elected. He definitely tailored his message to whoever he was speaking to.
The 47% comment was a product of that.

Romney was basing it on tax filers he just misspoke. It only takes a modicum of intelligence to know what he meant which we all have on this board.
Really? So people who live in Gateway, Alaska can see Russia? 1700 miles away?

Thank you, Carnac.
Can't find the link from the article I used, but here's a table that confirms.Just out of curiousity where are you getting the tens of thousands of wealthy who pay no taxes number from?
type in Johnny Carson CarnacI'll admit I have not heard the term Carnac used before and am not familiar with its meaning. I tried to google it in urban dictionary but nothing came up. May I ask what does it mean?
