Dixie on the Dole?

Classic!:) I am a military retiree, eligible for health care through the Veterans Administration until I turn 65, then I get thrown into regular Medicare. I only used the VA once and while waiting to see a doctor, I lost two jobs, this is how I see Obama care working.

Obamacare is nothing like the VA health care system, which, for your information, is the best health care available. The VA is a single payor system, which is what Obamacare should have been.

What the fuck is "single payor" you illiterate hick? Don't you mean, 100% paid for by government from taxpayer's money? Wouldn't that have put every insurance carrier in America out of business, and created a health care system much like Medicaid for everyone? Isn't that why even Democrats couldn't support such a ridiculous idea? Let's remember, you didn't have any Republican support for the plan passed, so this provision wasn't something you were forced to abandon because of them.

You fucktards have controlled the rhetoric too long, it should have never been allowed to be called "single payer" because there is no such thing. If it relies solely on taxpayer funding, it's about 150 million-payer, or how many ever 'working' Americans are left. That's who pays for it! We already have THAT plan, it's called Medicaid! But the reason it didn't pass and we didn't get it, is because the idea so repulsed Democrats, they couldn't support it. Of course, that was before Democrats had fully adopted Marxism, it would probably pass now... which is why you commie socialists are chirping about it.

As for my German assets, yes... in September, I still had some gold reserves in Germany, I think I still do have some there, but most of my wealth had been gone from Germany for close to a year now. Not that it's any of your fucking business.

Classic!:) I am a military retiree, eligible for health care through the Veterans Administration until I turn 65, then I get thrown into regular Medicare. I only used the VA once and while waiting to see a doctor, I lost two jobs, this is how I see Obama care working. This episode also forced me to take a job offering health insurance, and it is darn good insurance. But with these impending tax hikes, turns out that it might not be worth me keeping this job. I've done the math, and it turns out I'm going to have to give up either my car or my motorcycle (this is vaguely reminiscent of the "fiscal cliff" the country faces). But at the same time, this opens up all kinds of government goodies that I can take advantage of. What the hell, I'm a disabled veteran, I earned this stuff didn't I? By the way, has anybody but me noticed that everything that Obama is trying to accomplish here as far as goodies for his constituency look an awful lot like veterans benefits for EVERYBODY? I mean, look at this: "free" health care for everybody? Forgiveness of student loans? No money down mortgages from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac? All of this stuff and more is what's offered to a veteran serving just four years in the military. Hell, the G.I. bill alone (education benefit) is potentially far less than what someone could get from the US government basically writing off their entire four years of college education. Just what incentive does anybody have to put on a uniform, when you're entitled to the same benefits for working at McDonald's for four years? I'm just saying...

Ahhhh, now we're getting somewhere. How many young people, pumped full of testosterone and desiring an education, end up severely injured or dead? They know young people want excitement and adventure and they are lured into the military with videos of exactly that.

There was talk about women having to watch a sonogram of the fetus before getting an abortion. Perhaps one should be compelled to watch a video/pictures of armed personnel getting their legs blown off and the resultant rehabilitation and life thereafter. Where are the pictures depicting the complete sense of freedom and excitement showing a recruit parachuting out of a plane followed by showing a prisoner in captivity hung by the ankles while being tortured? Why are young people compelled to offer their life in order to get an education?

If Obama can change that then kudos to the Man.

I still say you should sell the Electric Company and Water Works and buy a Railroad.

The thing you bolded up there is totally fucked. Basically, the poors should sign up to be cannon fodder if they want things like a chance at an education, a decent job and health care.

The funny thing is that the Indian Health Service is a government run single-payer healthcare system. LOL.

It doesn't even means test. Any Federally recognized Native American or Alaskan Native is eligible.

Hah! Poor Dixie...headed towards a major breakdown. Hope they cover psychiatric care!

Was Dixie a schoolteacher at one point?

Hush yo mouth!

Howey, thanks for highlighting again that you are an illiterate hick. Well done!

Hi Dixie, how are you today? It's good to see you. I just wanted you to know that I don't mind if you go on the dole. I feel that emotional distress is just as serious as physical distress, and I can tell from this thread that you are very upset. So it's okay with me. Thank you.

Further to what Darla is saying, Dixie, you really need not have lived with the pain of a pinched nerve all of these years as you can receive medical treatment from the single-payer Indian Health System to treat that problem. Get it taken care of, man. The federal government will foot the bill and the U.S. taxpayers should consider it the least they could do for you and your people.

Wow, that's funny, because I am not upset in the least. I guess words translate differently through the message board and maybe you think I am upset or in emotional distress, but I am fine. My mind is like a steel trap, although this conversation has me wondering what kind of psychotropic drugs I can get for free, if I play my cards right. I bet I can probably even get on disability, if I set my mind to it. Do you know what kind of trippy-ass meds the prescribe for mental problems these days?

No I don't. I know they prescribe adderall for ADD, and it's basically speed. I have known women who took it and they got really skinny but wow did they get nasty. But I don't know what they prescribe for mental problems, I would imagine it depends upon what mental problems you have. We probably all have some. Sometimes I think I have mental problems for posting here. Which mental problems are you going to say you have? Try not to go overboard, wouldn't it be funny if you went overboard on the symptoms and they took you so seriously you ended up being involuntarily committed?

Like I said, I am probably going to now. I haven't in the past, not because I was too cheap to pay for it, but just never bothered. I am not a big doctor person, I only go if I really need to, but I think my philosophy is changing. If the candy store is wide open, I may as well get mine, while the getting is good. I'm making a list of all the assorted things that cause me consternation, so these things can be addressed with the doc.

You'll be tuned up like new and have a much better disposition. No different that a baby with a dirty diaper. Cranky, irritable, whiny. That all changes.

Looking forward to a new Dixie.

I'm not sure what mental problems, maybe I should start a thread here for suggestions? I want the kind of pills that will leave me feeling euphoric and happy, but don't have a lot of undesirable side effects. Of course, it will need to be something that won't react adversely with my pain meds for my pinched nerve. Been thinking of moving to someplace with medical weed, then seeing if I can get the government to pay for my smoke, that would be sweet.

Yeah, I don't think they lock you away in the rubber room anymore, they stopped that under Reagan, I believe.
