Charles Barkley to Bob Costas...I've carried a gun for 30 years...LOL..OMyYass

AND...?

Is there a point here?

Try this one on for size...

This isn't a gun problem, it just brings to light a serious problem in our society...domestic violence.

According to the Bureau of Justice Statistics, an average of three women are murdered by an intimate partner every day in the United States. But they were not the girlfriend of an NFL player. They didn't make the headlines, except perhaps in their local communities. There was no public mourning.

Battered women seek medical attention for domestic violence injuries significantly more often after separation than during cohabitation.

About 75% of the visits to emergency rooms by battered women occur after separation.

Women who leave their batterers are at 75% greater risk of severe injury or death than those who stay. (Source: National Coalition Against Domestic Violence).

Here's another thought...maybe if Jovan Belcher didn't own a firearm, his rage would have landed Kasandra Perkins in a hospital emergency room with a black eye, instead of the hospital's morgue.

Bob Costas Sunday night comments paraphrased and quoted extensively from a piece by Fox Sports columnist Jason Whitlock. Here are Whitlock's paragraphs leading up to the word Costas repeated:

How many young people have to die senselessly? How many lives have to be ruined before we realize the right to bear arms doesn’t protect us from a government equipped with stealth bombers, predator drones, tanks and nuclear weapons?

Our current gun culture simply ensures that more and more domestic disputes will end in the ultimate tragedy, and that more convenience-store confrontations over loud music coming from a car will leave more teenage boys bloodied and dead.

In the coming days, Belcher’s actions will be analyzed through the lens of concussions and head injuries. Who knows? Maybe brain damage triggered his violent overreaction to a fight with his girlfriend. What I believe is, if he didn’t possess/own a gun, he and Kasandra Perkins would both be alive today.

The monthly publications of the NRA have lists with details of self defenses where gun owners used their weapons to save lives. Since concealed carry has been established, there have been tens of thousands of self defenses that saved lives. Of course the gun grabbing Liberal biased mainstream media will not publish those accounts, they will consentrate on Trayvon Martin and this football player, isolated incidents when compared to all the lives and violence that guns have stopped. Bill O'reily really put Bob Costas in his place the other night, I loved it, Costas was no match for Bill, no way, no how. O'reily really needs to run for President, he just might win it, as well as he common sense talks. His program out pulls in ratings all the News Shows, he is huge.

I forgot to add, if you want to stop violence in the Black and Hispanic communities, take the guns away from all those Gangstas, but stay away from US good guys because we want to keep our guns. In the greater Los Angeles area, there are about 220,000 gang members with guns, do you really think that we would turn our guns in so those hoods can come out here to Menifee and start home invading, I don't think so. You people on here all know your politics better than I, but in the gun arena of ideas, I dominate, period, no contest.

And the NRA will never list any deaths and injuries that occur when a gun owner's weapon is turned against him, finds it's way into the hands of his son or daughter or other tragic deaths that occur solely because a firearm is present.

The biggest problem with the NRA and gun zealots like you is a total lack of ANY common sense or the willingness to accept reasonable COMMON SENSE gun laws.

And BTW, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE run Bill O'Reilly for President in 2016...PLEASE!
