Jim Demint to leave senate

I'm glad he's out of the Senate. Though "holds" are anonymous, I think he was single-handedly responsible for a lot of obstruction.

Hes leaving to do the work of the heritage foundation.

You know keeping THOSE people from voting

Dung, I admittedly haven't followed DeMint all that closely. I'm just curious what has he done that deserves jail time? (I know you didn't make the claim but I know you will know the answer)

Actually, I haven't the foggiest idea why anyone thinks that he actually deserves jail time. He's a vapid right-wing jackass, but that ain't criminal last I checked.

I'll give you a hint: Hacku believes that anyone with whom he disagrees deserves to be in jail.

No, I have a memory of him being involved in something and under investigation but I can't find anything so it must have been someone else...I know he's a corrupt POS but I thought he was under investigation years ago. Apparently not. It was during the Bush years....oh well.

I had it in mind that he was involved in the Duke Cunningham scandal.

DeLay...not DeMint...

Rather than start another DeMint thread I'll just add here...

This is a very good assessment of Jim DeMint in my view...he's vile.

Nobody better personifies the casual cruelty, the reckless disregard for the general welfare, the heedless contempt for the idea of a general political commonwealth, and the deep fealty to the rising power of oligarchy in this country than does DeMint, who first rode into the Senate by arguing, among other things, that gay people should not teach in the public schools. And no institution embodies those same qualities, which fairly define modern movement conservatism, than does The Heritage Foundation, which is little more than a talking-points mill at which the primary intellectual debates seem to center on who will write this week's crapola of the op-ed page of The Washington Post, and who will be appearing with Piers Morgan that night. Heritage's claim that it is a font of serious policy ideas dies with the fact that it is now going to be run by the biggest loon in the pond. This is a match made on a plane somewhat lower than heaven.

No...I googled and couldn't find what I was looking for with his name...he's been in the middle of several odd things...he's a real oddball and nasty to boot. That's my opinion.

Then I realized it was DeLay I was thinking of...you really do have reading comprehension issues.
