It wasn't close. He couldn't believe his usual machinations hadn't worked...he wanted time just like the last time he pulled off his slight of hand...but it was called. It wasn't about him being too close to see...anyone with a brain knew the score and Fox called it. Rove, as usual wanted time for his underhanded vote stealing to work...but it didn't work this time...he was dumbfounded and made a complete ass out of himself with his blustering refusal to recognize his defeat and the loss, the complete loss, of more money than had ever been seen for a campaign with nothing to show for it.

Other than to suggest he was just agog because he was so involved (not just close) which totally ignored his amazing behavior. Someone who is invested doesn't act like that...he kept it up until someone had to make the trip to the numbers people. Then everyone laughed at him but his behavior was very, very odd.
