Watching this guy - who used to strike fear in the hearts of liberals - flounder, panic and lose it has been one of the real unexpected treats of this election season.

it's funny because that's exactly what desh and a few others of you would be claiming if the shoe were on the other foot. i guess only conservatives can steal elections. shit, too bad they didn't do a better job this time around.

Something didn't work on election night...I've never seen such an odd performance as he gave on Fox...except in other elections when he managed it.

They are unwilling to accept that their numbers are dwindling, no matter how successful they 'get out the vote'. Old white bigots are dying off. Numbers young, open-minded, diverse thinkers are proliferating. Stupidly staying stuck in the '50's 'good old days' mindset is their undoing. Tough shit. Sucks to be them. :)

The campaign before the election had expressed confidence in its calculations, and insisted the Obama campaign, with its own confidence and a completely different analysis, was wrong. In the end, it the other way around.

"They were right," a Romney campaign senior adviser said of the Obama campaign's assessments. "And if they were right, we lose."

This is what happens when you believe your own lies.

The propaganda and truth twisting is so thick on the right they can't distinguish reality from their own pipe dream fantasies. Like most righties here they believe what they want and don't let facts get in the way.

Why were you Republicons blind sided so hard? Because you believed the propaganda lies of Faux, Hannity, limbaugh the junkie, Rove, Krauthammer, and my favorite Dick Morris. They lied to you, are you going to believe them again? I'd bet money you do.

Don't you 'conservatives' feel like you've been used? Rode hard and put away wet? Will you ever believe Rove again? I bet you do.

We lost an election by a couple million votes with a candidate no one was crazy about. That's the reality of what happened. It doesn't translate to "Republicans are WRONG!" The "establishment" republicans were wrong, they backed the wrong guy and he lost. You reeled off a list of republican players, but the amazing thing about it is, none of them were saying the same thing, they all had a different take. It's apropos, because that is essentially what sunk the republicans, not being able to coalesce behind a single message and one person to deliver it. Trust me, they will fix what was wrong and be back, and they won't be taking any advice from liberal democrats on how to go about that. But thanks again for your interest.

Thanks Dix.
If only consistence was worth something.

Well it's not about consistence, it's more about unification. It does absolutely no good to be consistently wrong.

I keep talking about the "establishment GOP" and I should probably do a thread about them, but the problem Republicans have is not being too conservative or the TEA party dragging them too far right, or that conservatism is wrong, or their ideas suck... The problem is, we have a rather large contingent of people who are old school Republicans, or "establishment" republicans, and they are entrenched in power positions within the party. They gave us Bob Dole and John McCain, and now, Mitt Romney. They are currently talking Jeb Bush.... now, does any conservative out there think that Jeb Bush is the answer? I doubt it, but this is how the establishment GOP thinks, and they carry a lot of influence in the party.

The important thing to note is, the establishment wing is not the majority of republicans, it's just the strongest faction. The rest of us split our votes up among several people, while the establishment remain solid behind their establishment guy, and that's who gets the nomination by default. We have to change that dynamic, and the only way to do that is to join forces behind our own alternative candidate. First we have to admit we are a fractured party with different voices, and not some monolith the establishment wants to promote.

Oh wow... so we weren't having a dialogue pertaining to the topic, we were engaging in a petty attack on me personally?

Thanks for admitting that!
