Is this one of those moments when the woman walks in on her husband sleeping with another woman and the husband says he didn't do it and says "who are you going to believe, your eyes or your husband?"

First off no one cares that he made this verbal gaffe. But this lady from Politico really wrote a column to tell us our ears are lying to us? Did she have an affair with Biden at some point and felt the need to cover for him?

The point is, you know Biden likes Obama,they repeat each other. This is stupid, if he did slip, it was just a slip and people trying to make something out of nothing is just desperation.

Your ears can do whatever they want, but whatever Biden said, it doesn't matter.

They focus on this when Romney continues to lie his ass off at every opportunity. It is shameful.

Yes, he misspoke. Yes we know what he really meant. It was funny. I'm a Republican and I bought a book of George W.'s verbal gaffe's. And yes partisans tweek each other over mistakes like this. No one is changing their vote over this. Why the need to be so defensive?

Just cranky today, and frustrated that our election have sunk so low! There is no accountability any longer! candidates may tell any lie they like, and nothing is done.

You're a reader of history you know politicians in the past have called each other far worst names and made worse accusations than what goes on in our modern campaigns. Major political campaigns are always ugly.

Name calling doesn't bother me. What bothers me are the ads that outright lie, to the point where third parties come and have yell foul to correct the record! It is wrong. Lying has become acceptable, it is scary.

Lying has always been accepted otherwise no politicians would ever be voted into office. All politicians lie or over promise if you want to use a less harsh term.

Okay, cawacko, I guess you are one of the young ins who have become desensitized to it! I remember when they use to get fined and when there was fairness in campaigning. Things are different, things are worse, but I guess the changes have occurred since you became a legal voter.

I'm not young but I didn't really start following campaigns until 2000. From the reading I've done on historical campaigns in the U.S. it has always been ugly. I watched the Lee Atwater video. It shows what we all know political campaigns are about winning, period. That's all that matters.

I know Kathy Hull who is Blair Hull's first ex-wife. Blair Hull ran against Obama in the 2004 Senate Democratic Primary. Hull was leading until Obama's people got his divorce records released and then all hell broke loose. Kathy Hull is a rich woman (thanks to her divorce) who is a big Democratic donor who supports Obama for President but I've heard her tell stories about the sh*t Obama's team pulled during that campaign. It was nasty. It was ugly. It's the exact reason why I will follow politics but I will never get involved because I want nothing to do with it.

It isn't the mudslinging, , that has always been in play, it is the total disregard of facts. The total misrepresentation of the truths, even when called on the facts, the sticking to the lies.

I am not calling out just one party, either, it happens on both sides. It just baffles me.

When talking to Ms. Hull she said the Obama team just spoke outright lies about her husband. It wasn't just mudslinging. That's what she was referring to as ugly and nasty. My point is not to single out Obama it's just happen to be one example that I was able to hear first hand.

I know you don't like Romney and you think Romney is lying and he isn't being called out enough for his lies. There are Republicans who think Obama is lying about Benghazi and many other 2nd term promises. Partisan politics is always going to include lying. Politics are ugly. It is about winning, that's all that matters.
