[h=2]Last year, Mitt Romney promoted the idea of sending emergency management back to the states, or better yet, the private sector.

Now his campaign says he would not abolish FEMA.

As always with Romney, it’s hard to know where he actually stands.

In a Republican primary debate in June, Romney, then in his "severely conservative" phase, said more responsibility for disaster relief should fall to the states.

“It is simply immoral,” he said, for the federal government “to continue to rack up larger and larger debts and pass them on to our kids.”

As governor of Massachusetts, Romney had no catastrophe to compare to this.

When floods ravaged the state in May 2006, many mayors complained that he’d vetoed flood-prevention funds a few years earlier.

The mayor of one town said that Romney only “showed up for the pictures” after the flood.

Romney says what he'll do then pretends he didn't say it and refuses to answer questions. It isn't just his tax returns he won't show us...he's as slimy as anything i've ever seen in my life. He truly is disgusting.

Mitt Romney refused to answer reporters' questions about how he would handle the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), after a Tuesday "storm relief" event in Ohio for Hurricane Sandy.

Whether President Obama or Republican nominee Mitt Romney wins the election, one thing seems clear: FEMA funding is likely to go down next year, but by very different orders of magnitude.

The president has proposed cuts to the Federal Emergency Management Agency for 2013 that would reduce overall funding by about 3 percent, with $1 billion trimmed from the Disaster Relief Fund but more money given to state and local programs.

Romney and running mate Rep. Paul Ryan have supported far steeper cuts to discretionary spending overall—a broad pool of programs that includes FEMA funds and disaster relief.

Let's not forget the 'hidden' running mate lyin Ryan...he's the image of Romney and he's hiding as well.

From the Romney pool report:

TV pool asked Romney at least five times whether he would eliminate FEMA as president/what he would do with FEMA.

He ignored the qs but they are audible on cam.

The music stopped at points and the qs would have been audible to him.

A follow-up report noted the specific questions Romney ignored:

"Gov are you going to eliminate FEMA?" a print pooler shouted, receiving no response.

Wire reporters asked more questions about FEMA that were ignored.

Romney kept coming over near pool to pick up more water.

He ignored these questions:

"Gov are you going to see some storm damage?"

"Gov has Chris Christie invited you to come survey storm damage?"

"Gov you've been asked 14 times, why are you refusing to answer the question?"

A man that ignores questions is the conservative choice for CIC?
