Where do you fit?

I scored just to the right of center overall but still left of the "moderate republican" mark. I was just left of center on economic issues and well right (but left of the "Tea Party Republican" mark) on social issues. I figure that test was as good as any and pretty much nailed me. Thanks Mott, I like this sort of thing.

Ok this is why I hate quizes like this. Lets look at some examples:

See, here it tries to assume what you are implying rather than interpret a direct answer. I assume that if you answer that it does, you are pegged as a republican, even though that answer doesn't have to be political. Of course different cultures with different backgrounds, non judeo-christian beliefs, not as euro-centric may in fact, not be in line with traditional american values or customs. Maybe you do think that's the case but have no problem with it. It says nothing really about your attitudes.

This isn't really an opinion based question. There is enough data to show that two parent families on average are going to do a better job raising children. I take it you are liberal if you believe in single parenthood? Again, how the fuck is this question political

Another question that will likely misinterpret the answer. I answered yes on this one but I am sure it misinterprets my conclusion. Obviously unions help the workers. I am also against unions. It's poorly phrased. It's necessary for the workers but that doesn't mean I think it's neccesary overall.

Anyway, enough ranting here is my score

Your welcome. That is interesting that I scored to the right of you on economic issues but well to the left on social issues. I thought I would have been to the right of you on economic issues. Go figure, eh?

Jesus Grind! You could kill the fun at an Irish wake! No shit, this is a blunt little instrument. It's just meant to be interesting and an "indicator" of where your political interests are. As for being a moderate.....tell us something we don't all ready know. The fact that you're not a Dixie or a Desh hasn't really excaped anyones notice.

Hard left socially? Wow...your reputation just took a blow! To think you're socially libreal like moi! :)

Well, the 'completely agree' on gay marriage, one parent can raise a child, the government should do more on health care (this one was very poor as what I would have the government do is not liberal) sent me way over to the left I am sure. I am surprised the abortion issue didn't make me more moderate socially as I said it should be illegal in most cases.

To be honest, I thought almost all of those questions were more social in nature rather than economic.

Some are kind of both. On "Environmental laws need to be stricter" I selected "mostly disagree" as I feel that our environmental laws are currently pretty strict and are just about right were they need to be. That's a question that can be viewed from both an economic and a social point of view. From an economic view in that these laws have a cost benefit that need to be measured and weighed and from a social point of view in that environmental laws should primarily be based on human health and safety with economic considerations being secondary to health and safety.
