Personally I find the fact that Obama's going back to Washington to monitor the storm situation quite reassuring. Remember Bush taking a vacation while New Orleans drowned? At least we know we have someone competent and capable of handling a crises instead of fucking one up like you wingnuts do.

No, but I do remember Obama going to bed while his Ambassador and two Navy SEALS were being slaughtered after Obama denied them military back up in Benghazi. You probably wouldn't know that since it isn't being recorded on DailyKos or HuffingtonPost or whatever left wing blog you get your news from.

Wow, you guys actually care about someone when it's politically expedient but when thousands of innocents died in New Orleanss cause your messiah was asleep and when thousands of our soldiers and tens of thousands of innocent Iraqis died in Bush's immoral war ya'll didn't give a rats ass. Absolutely right. He didn't tell all those Iraquis to get killed either. Their own stupid fault from your point of view, huh? Fancy being so stupid you go and stand in front of a yank with a gun. They deserved to die. The good people affected by Katrina deserved everything they got, too. And you will be OK because you can always blame Obama.

There are so many straw men it is hard to know where to start. Here is the deal. A hurricane unlike other natural disasters like tornadoes and earthquakes don't just spring up. While their exact destination isn't always known with great certainty, you have a general idea of where it is going.

Katrina was unique in one way in that its initial track had it going to Florida but it made a sudden turn and headed for New Orleans. There was ample warning to evacuate for EVERYONE living in that area. The over whelming majority of people who did not evacuate did so by CHOICE and no other reason. We can speculate why they made that choice, but they made that choice.

So were they asking for it and did they deserve to die? That is nonsense. But, they did make decisions that led to their death. That is indisputable.

As I said, you are woefully out of your league talking about hurricanes and specifically this one.
