Why Do Republicans Hate Obama?

(Excerpt) Why Do So Many Republicans Really Hate Obama?

Moreover, should Obama be successful in rebuilding the U.S. economy during a second term, and once voters grasp that “Obamacare” has liberated them from the fear of being driven into bankruptcy by medical emergencies, the new Democratic coalition could prove to have a kind of staying power not seen since FDR and Truman.

Indeed, it’s been Republican anxiety over that very possibility in the wake of George W. Bush’s spectacular failures that led to the GOP’s Washington version of massive resistance during Obama’s first-term.

Or, to put it another way, if President Obama can win in this economy, how could any talented Democratic candidate lose? (End)

That really is it. We witnessed the battle against medical care change. The Repubs threw everything they had at it. No medicare. Death panels. Nothing was out of bounds. Of course the Repubs knew that once ObamaCare was fully implemented there would be no turning back. Every country with government involvement in medical, without exception, not only saves money but the citizens in those countries, without exception, overwhelmingly support their respective plans.

As the article makes clear if Obama can successfully turn the economy around in the next four years the Repub party will have to rebuild from the ground up and the Repubs won't accomplish that in time for the '16 election. An Obama win this November could very well be the death kneel for the Republican Party as we know it. That, alone, is more than sufficient reason to vote Democrat in this election.

A tacit admission that he has failed in his first term

It is true that once an entitlement is entrenched there is no turning back and I truly believe that adding this new entitlement will destroy our country. You obviously believe differently. It doesn't mean I hate him, just his policies.

Why did democrats hate George W. Bush?
Why did democrats hate Ronald Reagan?

I am almost embarrassed that I responded to such a juvenile thread, but I did it anyway

"It is true that once an entitlement is entrenched there is no turning back and I truly believe that adding this new entitlement will destroy our country."

I understand your embarrassment by making that statement. Dozens of countries from rich to poor, big to small, densely to sparsely populated have all benefited from government involvement in medical care. Should ensuring all the citizens have sufficient health care coverage destroy the US then that will be definite proof of just how exceptional America is.

Because he lies, and is a communist?

I don't hate Obama, I just dislike his policy intensely. Basically it can be described as "Whatever Damocles didn't like that Bush did, but a lot more of it."

Try Norway and Sweden and Denmark and other countries that not only have medical care but numerous other social programs like child care for working mothers, for example. Hey, even closer to home, look at Canada and Quebec, in particular. While most provinces require a monthly payment ($50 or maybe $100 for a family) the residents of Quebec are automatically insured. Working, not working, single, a family......no difference. Everyone is covered.

The reason Greece has a problem is because so many people cheated on their taxes. Under the table sales, etc. Now they're seeing the results of their greed and selfishness. Of course, the government was just as corrupt so nothing was done. If not paying taxes was treated as theft, which is what it is, there would be a quick change in people. If someone avoided paying taxes by offering cash/no receipt and was found out they should be charged with theft just as someone would be charged for shoplifting.

Social programs do not bankrupt countries. If anything, they have the opposite effect. Just as group rates are cheaper for medical care lower group rates apply to everything. Government car insurance is another example.

It's unfortunate the ignorance of yourself and others stand in the way of progress but us Liberals hold out eternal hope you'll educate yourselves. Once ObamaCare gets up to full speed the people will see the benefits just as every other country has witnessed the advantages of government involvement in medical care. Will the typical Conservative have learned? We can always hope.

Same as most hatred.

FEAR

On the one hand we can't ignore the outright lies spread about Obama and his policies. On the other how can anyone conclude trying to ensure the health of the citizens is detrimental to a country? Regarding the opposition to ObamaCare unsubstantiated fear has overridden logic and common sense.

the right has no fact they will call a non fact if it benifits the party.

Not only is the party held over country

they hold their party over facts

So if one doesn't fork over their money to the state to be redistributed they are selfish and greedy? Is that your contention?

Quick question, is there a percentage of your income the gobblement could take that would cause you to say "ENOUGH ALREADY"? Could the gobblement take 60% of your income? 70%? 80%

What is that cutoff for you personally?
