Unemployment is down

YAY OBAMA!(but can someone tell me why, with such SUPERIOR numbers like this, the "recovery" is taking so dang long?)

Zap got the numbers wrong. The article said July and August added an additional 86,000 jobs. September added 114k jobs not 146k.

They are also wrong on where the jobs are added, they just say that government jobs are up without any real evidence that they are hiring while leaving the impression that these suddenly "found" jobs are all private sector...

...not to mention the millions that have given up looking for a job.

Evince, you don't give a rat's ass about the working class. All you care about is that your guy wins.

Nobody on the left is as wacko as GOP conspiracy theorists. The desperation is palpable. You should be embarrassed about these dolts.

"Jack Welch
, the former CEO of General Electric, quickly came out with a tweet, voicing his suspicion. On his Twitter account he accused the Obama administration of manipulating U.S. employment data for political advantage. “Unbelievable jobs numbers…these Chicago guys will do anything…can’t debate so change numbers,” said Welch, 76 and a Republican.

Other GOP members also blasted the numbers.

“In regards to today’s Jobs report—I agree with former GE CEO Jack Welch, Chicago style politics is at work here,” Florida Rep. Allen West wrote.

“No, there’s nothing at all curious about the last jobs report diving to 7.8 percent unemployment before the election,” said Keith Urbahn, Donald Rumsfeld’s former chief of staff.

The world economy was teterring on disaster, this isn't great, but it could have been worse. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but things aren't as bad as they were and hopefully will continue to improve. I heard a panel on NPR discussing how things have changed and stabilization is the important factor of the future of economics.

Yes, things will get much better... when PRESIDENT ROMNEY is inaugurated. I can't wait for the day.

Well, Welch is obviously a moron. I wouldn't claim that the numbers are rigged. I'd simply say what I've said all along - the manner in which the numbers are reached doesn't provide a complete picture of the condition of the economy. Millions have given up on finding a job. That's really the only reason the numbers have dropped the way they have. Without that, unemployment would be higher than when Obummer took office- around 11% by some estimates.

Obstructionist Righties constantly cockblocking Obama.
Oh. Thank you. So you're saying that the regime is too stupid to thwart the schemes of a bunch of backwoods greedy racist rich guys? Love to see the plan for saving the economy. Bet it's written in crayon.:palm:

I need some help with this one... 114k jobs added and the unemployment rate drops .3%???

the agency that publishes the statistics uses running averages

sometimes the rate goes up sometimes it goes down, but it averages out, i expect you will like next month's report better

We need 150,000 just to keep the rate even.

not as long as corporations hire out of country workers for lower wages and congress lets them

there is some kind of visa (i think it is H1B) for 'necessary' jobs that cannot be filled from the current work force because too many workers/graduates did not study enough math/science

some of these deficiencies may be remedied at community/city colleges or by companies adopting the european apprentice system where they hire people and train them and start them on a career track whereby they can advance

Still not enough, and revisions also showed that those levels were still a job loss. The maths don't add up, and they expect sheeple to just accept that.

the job report reflects only the private sector and it certainly is better than the 500k jobs lost per month at the beginning of the shrub economic crisis where cutting taxes for the wealthy while fighting two wars was supposed to produce jobs

or did you forget that was how things were when obama took over and after a while turned things around from job losses to job gains

maybe not enough jobs or good enough jobs, but better than heavy job losses, not to mention a congress (after kennedy died) that blocked every obama jobs initiative with filibusters

The person you are replying to is the ultimate sheeple.

I am more and more convinced every day that Hobama is going to lose in a landslide

Yes. Europe is going gangbusters right now

I wonder if this had anything to do with the change....
The remaining
1.7 million persons marginally attached to the labor force in September had
not searched for work in the 4 weeks preceding the survey for reasons such
as school attendance or family responsibilities. (See table A-16.)

DQ, I don't think the decision to go to war in Afghanistan or Iraq was determines based on creating jobs.

So basically we're right where we started when Obama became President? And you consider that an accomplishment?

Unemployment was skyrocketing when Obama became president and did so for several months afterwards. If Obama were sworn in a few months later, would he suddenly be a great president or something, now that he's not being blamed for as much of what his predecessor did?
