Lehrer’s debate moderation mauled by critics

The moderator was a big part of Romney's debate win! Jim Lehrer let Romney run rough shot over his ass, by not stopping Romney's rambling and letting Romney moderate the debate! I hope this is Jim last debate too!

He did a fine job. I liked the focus on differences and was truly happy that the topic remained above the level of stupid that the current idiots think is "debate" nowadays.
 
all thoughts of who won or lost aside, I think it was one of the better debates I've seen.....both sides had an opportunity to show the world what they really thought about issues.....
 
robmoney lied about his own stances.

We have sunk to such a low in this country that people accept a win claim from someone and jsut ignore that he lied to stump his opponent and to get the votes of people who didnt realise he was lying?

She'll become the "deMittinator" and spend every day talking about how horrible he is for doing things like warrantless wiretapping which has increased exponentially under Obama but somehow escapes her notice nowadays. She'll complain about the PATRIOT Act which was strengthened under this President immensely, but that escapes her notice too. She'll suddenly remember that rendition is bad, although that has continued under this President without even a pause. She'll suddenly notice that people are being bombed by remote control although Obama has been doing it at a rate of about five times that of the previous Executive... She'll say it was because the election is "stolen" while ignoring any law that might actually stop that kind of thing from happening by saying you have "no evidence" although she knows it is illegal to collect any...

Yeah, Desh will be fine, and normal.

I would agree. The OP is experiencing a classic case of cognitive dissonance. It is unfathomable that OWEblahblah could have lost to someone like Romney. OWEblahblah is so smart we are told and they believe. When I heard OWEblahblah, it all sounded exceedingly familiar. With regards to the moderator, it isn't supposed to be about him/her. The debate is a chance for the people to hear from the candidates. It is a not a forum for a bloviating left wing boob to boost the left wing candidate, although that is what the left wingers are used to.

One last point. The left is beside themselves that OWEblahblah didn't bring up the 47%, Bain and all of the other assorted things the regime has been attacking him on. There was a calculated reason. They can't because it would give Romney an opportunity to explain it in front of millions and millions of people. They want to keep those attacks for TV ads that are seen by low information voters and because TV ads can't be responded to. If OWEblahblah had brought those things up and Romney effectively smacked them down, no more TV ads.

I assume your beef with Lehrer is that he gave obama 3 minutes more to defend his abysmal record, and romney took 3 minutes LESS to spank him? Don't worry SMK, it may not have been completely fair, but romney still pulled it off. We on the right appreciate your concern.

Romney should be prohibited from further debates due to his violation of the rules. If Obama is to debate someone, let it be the Libertarian candidate.

My beef with Lehrer is that he lost control of the moderation early on and never regained it. Obama got extra time, Rmoney got extra time and both walked all over Lehrer.
