Hey Neanderthals! Guess Who's Got a New TV Show?

I don't chastise my buddies for eating meat, either hunted or store-bought. And whether or not I'm 'believable' to you is of zero concern to me.

That was my point. That you demean hunters for killing animals and yet don't chastise your friends for killing animals. Seems a bit hypocritical.

I didn't ask why anyone hunts, Oath-man. I already know why they do: they like killing animals.

That is the least of the reasons why many hunt. Population control, environmentalism, conservation, love of the outdoors, the challenge, and many other reasons are equally important motivations (if not more so).

But those reasons don't let you climb on a soapbox.

My friends know exactly where I stand and why. I don't have to chastise them, nor would chastisement serve to change their behaviour. They will change if/when they choose.

Your reasons for killing animals are so 'noble' they don't need defending, yet you can't stop yourself from being defensive. Hmmm?

Do you think your remarks here will change any hunter's mind? If not, it still seems hypocritical.

I also wonder if you would help replace the thousands of pounds of lean protein donated to foodbanks and soup kitchens by hunters?

Correcting your misconceptions is no trouble for me. And each of the reasons I listed are true. And some are quite valuable to our wilderness.

I don't care how it *seems* to you. This is a message board where we are free to express our ideas and opinions. Ted Nugent's show is the topic. He's a disgusting right-wing scumbag who likes to hunt and that's what his show's all about. Be sure to tune in; it's right up your alley.

You haven't corrected a thing. All you've done is say the same defensive bullshit you always do about how wonderful it is that you shoot animals.

I stated numerous other reasons why people hunt. I also pointed out several ways in which hunters serve both the wilderness and our society.

But you choose to ignore the facts and continue to simply slam them as killers. And do so while limiting the scope of your accusations to only include those who kill their meat for themselves, and ignore those who pay someone else to do it for them.

Its also odd that you say my opinion doesn't matter to you, and yet act as though your opinion matters to me. I am not defensive. I am simply correcting you when you spout your own narrow minded bullshit.

I have seen Ted's show and didn't care for it. I like to hunt, but I am far from being "right-wing".

You foolishly think you're 'educating' me or anyone else here about the noble reasons you kill animals. We've read and heard it all before. You subscribe to a different set of values and definitions for 'conservation' than I do, and your version will never pass muster with mine. Give it up.

If you were the only one to read these posts, I would have never responded. But other people read them. Educating those who have not closed their minds to facts is part of my goal.

And the fact that there are no natural predators for the animals most of us hunt is a fact. A high school biology textbook would explain why this could do tremendous damage to the environment.

Also, two of the species that I hunt are non-native species that are doing grave harm to farms and wild lands. I, and hunters like me, are providing an important service to both the environment and our society by hunting those animals.

Yawn.

I read the conversation and found it enlightening and enjoyed following it. It just goes to show people can share similar beliefs on many issues but it doesn't mean they will agree on all.

You are attempting to use logic, with a dumb ass vegan; who has the mental capacity to debate, of a 3 year old.

Just pat it on the head and send it home. :D

<now wait for the snappy comeback; because it will prove my point>
