Food stamps are a huge economic stimulus, which feed mostly the poor elderly and young children, military and the working poor. I feel most people don't understand the food stamp program. Have you read the regulations? Do you understand you have to be working, disabled or elderly to receive the benefits. Single parents with children who earn minimum wage and need the help.

I do see your reasoning, if I can call it that. I suppose if someone is thrown out of their apartment in a low income neighborhood they will get/be out of that neighborhood. Sounds like GOP logic.

Reminds me of what they did in Vancouver, BC, years ago. They wanted to refresh the old part of the city, the part with brick streets, etc, so they drove the homeless, street people a few blocks away. Then the mayor went on TV and told us how he cleaned up Gastown. :palm:

So, you would let children starve because their working parents don't earn enough at shitty jobs to pay for the bare necessities of life. I think that is pretty heartless.

I think states should deal with this, and not the federal government.

Oil companies trying to scam everyone! They have made huge profits in the last eight years. Oil companies are always trying to scare people. Up here they are asking for tax breaks on Alaska oil or threatening not to develop our oil. I say we call their bluff! If they don't want it now, they will eventually!

The states need to deal with this issue, not the Fed. And I have no say on how my money is being used. I have to go now. Have a great day Rana!
