As with any 2 parents contributing to the physical characteristics of their children, the kids may have Mom's eyes or nose as well as Dad's....not so with skin color.
I've heard it said that the children will always be darker than the white parent but lighter than the dark parent.....

And if you're talking about personality, thats a completely different issue.....

This is an interesting discussion. My sister is white and my brother-in-law is half white/half black (Trinidad/Tobago roots). They have 20 month old twins, a boy and a girl. The boy has darker skin tone and darker curly hair. The girl is fair skin and has blond hair. It's one of those where when you look at them you would have no idea they are related if you didn't know.

Why?

I don't believe that face-saving is required on my part given that almost all such pairings PRODUCE children that are more identifiably black. The suggestion that genetics plays no role in that makes absolutely no sense to me .. AND, if indeed genetics does play a role, then how is that different from what I said.

You don't have to answer .. I'll hear it better from Mott.

skin color would certainly be a strong issue that will effect his developing personality....

You've never seen a mixed race, dark skinned women that has all the physical characteristics and features of a typical white women ?

She will always be darker than non-mixed race, but her looks are determined by the combinatin of genes..
How she identifies herself will be determined by those and many other factors
