The damage is done, going after this person would make them look worse. What would be the purpose of prosecuting. Did they say no pictures or recordings? Public figures may have a hard time perusing this. I guess they will have to start collecting cell phones at the door of their secret secret fund raisers.

Far as I know, courts convict people of breaking the law everyday, and NEVER excuse it because "damage is done!"

That's a completely NEW concept, and one that might turn criminal justice on it's ear! ...WTG Libs!

I don't think there is the "damage" you believe. Even among those who actually get money after filling out tax forms most simply do not think of themselves as one of the people who get government aid. Nor are all the people who pay less because of credits actually not paying federal income taxes at all.

I was just pointing out that was probably the law of which the poster was speaking...
 
I think this is all mental masturbation really. The Romney campaign isn't going to press charges against the guy, that would be stupid.
