#AMERICAISDEAD
Nobody is voting based on the RNC convention or the D&C convention. Nobody is voting based on Romney's speech or Clinton's speech or Moochelle's speech or Maobama's speech.

A speech doesn't get someone a job. People are past words.

But, if you want to keep deluding yourself into thinking that speeches matter then I will be more than happy to laugh at your happy ass the day after the election.

here's a reason to choose who to vote for....
President Barack Obama has not met with his jobs council for six months because he has too much on his plate, White House press secretary Jay Carney said on Wednesday.

why aren't jobs on Obama's plate?......

not only has he not met with them, they also haven't met without him....
President Barack Obama’s Jobs Council hasn’t met publicly for six months, even as the issue of job creation dominates the 2012 election.

Does Obama listen to his jobs czar?...
Immelt added, "Personally, I think [lowering taxes] will create jobs."

They are...it's dealing with obstructionist Righties that he doesn't have time for...

(Reuters) - Republicans in the Senate blocked on Thursday an election-year "Bring Jobs Home" bill that, if nothing else, gave Democrats an opportunity to highlight Mitt Romney's ties to Bain Capital and its outsourcing practices.

right....the Occupy Jobs Council Meeting Room crowd has kept them from doing anything since January..........

lol...from your link...
At a news conference to tout their jobs bill, Democrats also hit at Romney's refusal to release past income tax returns.

at least Democrats have their priorities in order....

It would be fun to know how or when people who aren't partisans or political junkies (so eliminating this board) decide who they want to vote for. For example, you hear stories from people who say they hadn't made up their minds until they got into the voter booth. I can't imagine the conventions changing many minds but its possible they do some.

:0) Kinda' obvious why you hope that speeches and conventions don't matter.

You can laugh all you want, but Obama is the president because of his speeches and 2004 convention performance.

Maybe in 2016 the right can find better speakers than a crusty old man talking to a chair.

Of course by then it may be too late.

:0)

They will undoubtedly change and/or solidify some minds.

comparing obama's speech in 2004 to today...is a bit strange. for starters...he was an unknown, his speech was what most people had to go on. now...not so. we have his record and no speech will change that record.

as he said...he didn't even complete his economic grade for his first term. IOW....he failed to pass.

I heard some pundit yesterday point out that an incomplete is given to someone who didn't do what they were required to do to pass.....

I'm sure there's no way to know this but I'd be curious out of the viewers how many are political partisans/junkies like us vs. how many were undecided or maybe leaning voting one way but still weren't sure?

Of course many who didn't watch will either read about the speeches in the paper or see highlights of the speeches on the news but I was thinking strictly in terms of those who sat down to watch the convention.

As long as you hate Obama, and he can do nothing right, ... why bother starting these threads? It's just a circle-jerk of rage.

The battle lines have been drawn for sure .. but there are 90 million Americans who do not intend to vote at all. Many of them would be inclined to vote democrat or republican, but they have no faith in either party. Some of them will be pursuaded to vote by what they see or hear about the conventions. I would suggest that most of them would be inclined to vote for democrats.

Additionally, I'm a Green and there is much conversation among Greens on whether to vote for Obama or not .. purely based on the danger they see coming from the right. Many are already convinced by what they see from the conventions. I respect that decision.

That's not what you guys were saying four years ago after Palin's convention speech.
