Just remember that your "weapon" has to remain holstered, until the "shooter" turns towards you and you see his weapon.
You can't draw while he's turning, just because you know he has a weapon.

I have only been paintballing a couple of times. Do they have holsters and "handguns" in paintball?

are you sure about that? is that a law? i am fairly certain that is not the case.

For this situation, there are some smaller handguns; instead of the larger "thousand round" weapons.

These can be expensive and I don't expect anyone to put out large amounts of money, so you will need to check into rentals
And Yes, they do make holsters.

We are attempting to recreate the situation in the video, not train for a situation.
If you look at the video; neither cop has their weapon drawn while running and only begin to draw, after the shooter turns towards them and they're moving away from him.

Yeah well, I am not getting shot with real bullets to prove my claim.

i don't believe you have to prove your claim. the whole basis of the troll's thread is about your OPINION, not actually proving your opinion. unless the troll is more psychotic than i thought and believes you can prove everything on an internet message board.

why start a thread asking for opinions....and then slam opinions that meet his first poll choice? oh wait.....to troll the friendly internets

Well, to be honest, I do believe I would have done better. But I have several advantages over those two cops. First of all, I am older and more experienced on dealing with emergencies. Second, I am a lifelong shooter. My dad first let me shoot his .22 revolver when I was probably 6 years old. That equates to 46 years of shooting. Third, for the past decade or so, I have been shooting at the range at least once a month, many months it is more than that.

There are only a few thing I consider myself even close to being an expert on, but shooting is one of those things. 4.5 decades of shooting and studying firearms counts for something in this game.

i don't doubt you. what i find silly is for someone to ask you to prove that. there is no way to prove something like that. legion never proves anything he says, yet, always expects others to prove opinions. i think he does it to get at your personal information, which he stalked me for and got and was previously banned for.

opinions about scenarios cannot be proven, unless you can recreate the exact same situation. and this case, you can't. i don't own a gun, never have. i have fired rifles and surprised my friends at how accurate i am, given i don't own guns, i have fired pistols, not accurate and enjoyed the ribbing. but that doesn't mean i can't give an opinion on the gross negligence of these cops. if this goes to court, the jury is not expected to prove they could do a better job, they are expect to render judgement on whether the trained police officers acted without negligence.

Every day, somewhere in the United States, someone is shot and killed—lots of someones, really. It’s not an uncommon thing.

This summer, though, it seems to be happening with an eerie regularity. A new week, a new high-profile shooting incident.

Eleven people were hit in midtown Manhattan, but it appears that the shooter—the fifty-eight-year-old Jeffrey Johnson—may have only shot one of them.

The rest, it seems, may have been shot by the two police officers trying to bring Johnson down.

The old way of doing things “was really dumb, because we let people get murdered,” Klinger says. So since Columbine, “the operational doctrine of American law enforcement has shifted away from ‘he’s probably going to stop’ … to ‘someone who is in a public space where there are multiple victims available needs to be stopped as quickly as possible.’”

Those people who support ever more unfettered access to guns would agree, no doubt, and suggest that an armed citizenry could play an invaluable role in stopping shooters like this.

But in this case, two trained officers were the ones who took down Johnson; in the process, nine civilians were wounded.

How many more would it have been if those officers had just been amateurs off the street?

what was the distance between the police and the assailant?
