A fertilized human egg cell is indeed a child. It is a unique human life created by the combination of its two parents genetic coding.
A fertilized chicken egg is indeed coded genetically as a unique chicken, again created by the genetic coding of its parents.

A fertilized egg is not a "child". A zygote (A diploid cell resulting from the fusion of two haploid gametes, aka an ovum or "fertilized egg".) is a zygote and a chld is a child. Both are two different stages of human development. (Yes, before you ask, a zygote/ovum is the very beginning of a human life.).

Would it help if I said progeny? A zygote is a stage of development. A 'child' is not. You will always be your parents child. Always. It never changes. You can have zygote, blastocyst, embryo, infant, toddler, pre teen, teen, young adult etc.... of which all are still the child of the parent.
Calling it a zygote is simply a feeble attempt to dehumanize the child. It is especially retarded given the length of time it is actually a zygote. It is past that stage long before a woman will even realize she has missed a period, let alone know she is pregnant.

A zygote is a stage of the childs development. Typically that stage last less than a day. It is a blastocyst and then embryo by the time it implants in the wall of the uterus.
