As if the comment about "legitimate rape" not causing pregnancy were not enough. Another person of influence in the GOP has stepped up and spoken.

"Sharon Barnes, a high ranking state Republican, came to the defense of her conservative colleague who she believes only "phrased it (his statement) badly."

Barnes was quoted by The New York Times saying, "abortion is never an option." Barnes went on to biblically claim that, "If God has chosen to bless this person [the rape victim] with a life, you don’t kill it.""

It was the birthers and the "He's a muslim" crowd that pretty much handed the 08 election to Obama (of course it didn't hurt that the previous administration could fuck up a wet dream.).

ah, and when was it a presidential candidate made those remarks?......for that matter, the Senate candidate who did, came back and admitted his comments were wrong and apologized......has the Democrat Senate candidate come back and apologized for supporting the killing of the unborn?.....

And what is perceived is what will sink them. That the man came out and apologized simply means his bosses sent him out for damage-control. And the lady calling it a blessing isn't just someone off the stree.

Nope... They are EXPLOITING these comments because they know they can't run on Obama's dismal record, and they believe this could cause a rift between the evangelicals and the more socially libertarian republicans.
