Wealth is not endless!!!!

"wealth is not endless"
"greed of the 1%"
"earned his(their) wealth"
"Must be stopped"
"Take and take without giving anything back"

Out of curiosity, what exactly are they taking and what precisely should they be giving back?

Like I said, no mention of wealth redistibution. Thanks for helping.

You mean like Africa? Cuba? Venezuela? Former Soviet Union?

Why do you libs hate so much? Why are you so envious?

Just mind your own business. The rich aren't hurting you

That rather depends who 'you' is. You could just be me, on my own with no voice.
You could be the members of this forum. All mouth and trousers. Without the sense to be hurt.
or
'You' could be our fellow human beings in sub-saharan Africa, in Asia, even in New York and London.
Now your point is made ridiculous.
They do hurt 'us'. They hurt us because in their greed they deny us choices. Because in their greed they prevent funds being used for education, for feeding the hungry, for building infrastructures. They steal aid given to their poor nations by the tax payers of richer nations. (that's you)
When one of these people (and we have had several in the UK of late) rides a bike, or swims a sea in the name of charity and collects - and is proud of- a sum of money that doesn't even start to compare with their personal wealth, then we should understand what forces belong to them and what forces are denied us.
Note: Not ALL the wealthy are like that, but far too many are.
Li Ka Shing, the fifth richest man on the planet donates pocket change to a local church, builds a new wing on a hospital, helps a university and then says, 'If local reporters don't leave him alone he will move all his businesses to a more friendly country and see how you like them apples.' (He spoke mostly in Chinese so there is a little licence with the final part of that).
A while ago I looked at the richest 100 people in the US. Number 97 (I think) was on his uppers with the grand sum of US$2.9 billion. I reckon that a couple of billion dollars is enough to see any family OK for several generations. 2.9 billion is wow you are some rich dood! Well done. But that's enough, don't you think?

So to our friends who think nothing should ever change so vote to conserve let me say that those people hate you just as much as they hate the rest of us. You happen to give your money to them with a smile whereas we dont.

Hate the rich? Don't be silly. They aren't hurting? Oh yes they bloody well are, its just that you are too thick to see it.

"The greed of the 1 % must be stoped or humanity has no future."

When your sole defining characteristic is money, and you claim they must be stopped, what else could it mean?

WB, fair, I believe, is paying a fair share for goods and services rendered. Businesses, especially the large ones, usurp the amenities of this country at tremendous expense to all of our resources human, material and environmental. They are simply not willing to pay their fair share and instead spend billions avoiding the responsibilities of existing in an otherwise peaceful and accommodating society. At some point the society will no longer accept the atrocities forced upon them by the corporate world and the power mongers. As the most productive people on Earth we deserve better, much better. The betterment of our society has always been my largest priority. It is for certain that very few of the very wealthy and many of the not so wealthy feel the same way. Considering that all I have is my vote, my voice and my abilities to agitate for positive change in societal regards and I am constantly met with an unbending opposition that can shut me down immediately, even get me arrested for simply demanding my rights as a US citizen and member of this society I simply MUST struggle on. They have the money, the lawyers, even the police to do whatever they wish them to do to make me disappear. I have news for them. This old man ain't disappearing anytime soon and when I'm clocked out for good I am confident I will leave behind a few proteges' to back fill for me and carry on the good fight. The full breaking point in this society will happen someday and it's getting closer and closer. Good and positive societal change will push that day further and further. It's a moral choice but it is more so a good business choice. Take it or leave it. That is the question only you can answer for yourself.

Back in the middle to late '50's until the late '60's and the tax rates on the wealthy many times exceeded 90% I didn't see any rush for them to get on the next flight out of this country. They were still very rich and most seemed to appreciate the fact that this COUNTRY helped them to acquire their wealth, protect their businesses from crime, fire, even unfair competition and they knew that this could not happen anywhere else on the planet. We need to go back to those good ole' days. The filthy rich will have to learn to live with it just like the rest of us have learned to live on meager wages and terrible conditions all thing considered.

If I have 3 million dollars to leave behind to each of my kids none of them will pay a dime in inheritance taxes. That ain't gonna happen. I'll leave them enough to be comfortable, I hope, but the rest is going to veteran's medical and medical rehabilitation facilities. Our heroes are starving in the streets, in need of care they don't even know about and can't get it even if they do. The way the rethugs and some democrats use up our youth in useless wars and then discard them like last weeks leftovers is disgraceful and disgusting.

Hey, I thought you libtardiots didn't want to go back to the 1950s? BTW, in the 1960s it was JFK who lowered marginal rates.

But, now to factually dismantle your PMSNBC Al Sharpton talking points. Yes, the marginal tax rate was 90%, however there were so many deductions and loopholes, that nobody really paid that money. For example does your stupid liberal ass know that at one time you could right off credit card interest on your tax return? It is true. Look it up dumbass. Now how stupid is it for the federal gobblement to subsidize credit card debt the way they subsidize housing debt? Only a stupid liberal with the IQ of 3 could think that is a smart thing to do.

the problem with the mindset of the wealty in American is they have bought into the myth that wealth is endless, and there for the taking.they think they can take and take and take with out end and never give anything back. This is an idea that is absolutly wrong.Wealth and natural resourses are limmited.THey dont realise where their takeing from is from everyone else. They rape the land and pollute the forests and waters. They leave billons of people in poverty for their their own benifit. The greed of the 1 % must be stoped or humanity has no future.

Perhaps you should take your "wealth is not endless" message to the US Congress who seems to believe it is? After all, they continue to approve budget after budget which spend trillions more than we take in, while we have a $15 trillion national debt. They continue to fund their parade of failed social programs with wealth that has yet to be generated, and may not be generated for many generations to come. Any time they are confronted on the lunacy of this, they yammer about raising taxes on the wealthy, as if wealth is endless.

Wealth is not endless, but it is also not finite. Wealth does grow and accumulate over time, albeit very slowly. In order to understand this, we must first understand what "wealth" is. Some people believe that wealth equals money, but that is not true. If this were so, a millionaire today would be as "wealthy" as a millionaire 100 years ago, and that's not the case. Wealth is about the value of money and assets. You can have a BILLION dollars in wealth, if the dollars are worthless, do you have wealth? You can go to some villages in Africa with a quarter in your pocket, and you are the most 'wealthy' person in the village. So wealth is all about the value of what you have, in relation to what others around you have in general. And it doesn't even have to involve money, necessarily. If you showed up in the African village with 50 lbs. of rice, you are more 'wealthy' than the guy with a quarter, because you have an essential vital resource. Owning a yacht in the middle of Africa, is not beneficial in any way, so do you have wealth because you own a yacht? If we sent hungry Ethiopians English riding saddles, would they be more wealthy than before? What if the saddles were custom made and very expensive? It doesn't matter because a starving Ethiopian has no use for a riding saddle. What if you are Thurston Howell, and you become stranded on an island? Does it matter how much money and assets you have? Are you still wealthy, if your wealth is of no use?
So we see, wealth is a very complex thing, it is not simply monetary worth.

Whne you start off with a falsehood, the entire debate becomes irrelevant.....
Wealth is, the all practical purposes, infinite......you can earn all you're talents allow....
Generating wealth means creating wealth.....it is not 'taking' from anyone, its trading what you create with others that want your goods or services.....the only
difference is the scale of the trade......

You are eather dilusional or lieing.

a man owned a hotel, he was standing behind the registration counter......a tired tourist walks up to him....

"I have to have a room"...."I'm sorry, we're completely full, there's a convention in town"....

"Look I really need something, are you sure there's nothing you can do?".....the tourist laid a $100 bill on the counter....

Looking at the bill, the hotel owner says "Look, I have a room that is closed for renovation. You take a look at it, and if you think it would do, you can have it for the night"....

The tourist gets on the elevator....

Just then another man walks in, the town baker....."John, you're three weeks behind in your bill.....unless you make a payment right now you won't have any rolls for breakfast tomorrow!"...

The hotel owner looks down at the $100 bill.....that tourist is going to take the room, he has no other choices.....he picks up the $100 and gives it to the baker who pockets it and walks out the door....

Before he can get across the street he is approached by the local dairy farmer....."You've been dodging me all week......I need my money if you want milk and butter"......reluctantly, the baker gives the $100 to the farmer....

the farmer walks over to his attorney's office.....even though it isn't late the door is locked.....he pounds on the door.......the lawyer, straightening his clothes, answers....."Here's that retainer you needed to start that rezoning petition.....the lawyer takes the bill and closes the door.....

A few moments later an attractive young woman comes out of the office....she is tucking a hundred dollar bill into her blouse.....she crosses to the hotel....

Going up to the counter she says "John, here's a hundred for this month.....thanks for the tip about that conventioneer from Raleigh, he was a big tipper"

Just then the elevator opens and the tourist steps out....."I'm sorry....that just won't do".....he picks up the $100 bill and leaves.....

the moral of the story is, wealth is not endless.....
