You do realize that you are required to carry a valid drivers license, no matter what State you live in..

AND

If you are contacted by the Police, you have to have something to prove who you are. This only applies for legal contact and not just incidentale contact.

No, people are only required to carry a valid drivers licence if they are driving.

You have made an error, in your haste to try and prove me wrong; because I never said they had to have a driver's license when they WEREN'T driving.

What you said was, "You do realize that you are required to carry a valid drivers license, no matter what State you live in..". You made no mention of driving. So you were wrong. You are not required to carry a valid drivers license.

And until just recently NO STATE has required ANYONE to carry ID and particularly not for immigrants as immigrants fall under federal jurisdiction, NOT STATE. I am an old man and I have never been asked to prove my citizenship in this country except when I joined the Air Force and even they don't require that anymore. Maybe if I got a good tan and learned to speak with a little Latin accent the nosey ones would get just a bit more nosey? The rethugs will certainly lose once again on these stupid laws they keep passing and getting struck down in appellate courts. Common sense makes no sense to those damned idiots.

On another point, even if someone is caught driving with no license or insurance it is misdemeanor, they are not arrested and they are given a court date to show up with the proper documents, or a lawyer, or a damned good excuse and some of those excuses are accepted and the unlicensed driver is allowed once again to go on about their way. rethug bullshit is just that. rethug bullshit.
