Obama can explain how his do nothing plan, that will drastically reduce benefits while increasing the burden on the budget is going to work out.

Romney can clarify his nonsensical attacks and maybe he will present an actual plan to address the problem.

It's bad enough that leftist idiots have saddled us with these burdens now they refuse to let anyone adjust the load to something fiscally viable. It is time for the obstructionist left to quit their stalling and let us save the social saftey net, before it drags us all down.

Rather than hack away at Medicare, how about we take a chunk of the money we give the DoD? Surely that would serve the people of this nation far better.

I'll give Mitt credit. He's showing true political courage by taking on entitlement reform. The problem with his plan is that the people who can least afford it will be making all the sacrifices. I'm all for reforming the entitlement programs but I have to tell Mr Romney & Ryan. Let's have an adult conversation.

With entitlement reform in which the middle and working classes will be asked to make sacrifices the upper classes will have to make sacrifices on defense spending and revenue. The political left in this country has been willing to have an adult conversation about this. The right is not. Until they demonstrate they are willing to make real sacrifices then that adult conversation isn't going to occurr.

Everybody knows how to cut the cost of medical care. Implement a one payer system. Every country that has government medical, dozens of them and without exception, save 1/3 of the cost. What could be an easier way to save 1/3 of the cost? Get the Repubs out of the way and let Obama do his job.

FACT: Medicare goes tits up in 12 years at current funding levels.

OBAMA'S PLAN: Raid Medicare for $500-700 billion in order to pay for Obamacare, and do nothing else to Medicare.

RYAN'S PLAN: Cover everyone 55 and older as we always have, and make sensible reforms to enable the core program to remain solvent.

WHO wants to DESTROY Medicare???
 
Ryan's master plan: Plan A: Give all the people a little check each year to buy insurance from the shady looking guy on the corner.

When they all die after the money runs out, there's no need for a Plan B (medicare)

Pinhead characterization of Ryan's plan to SAVE Medicare, compared to Obama's plan to do nothing....whereby, no one has a little check, no one has insurance, no one over 55 will have any of the benefits promised, and the whole program goes completely bankrupt in LESS than 12 years.

Obama has a plan. Once the program is in full effect, once the citizens actually experience ObamaCare, they'll see the true advantages of government involvement in medical care. Once the citizens see proof of the lies and distortions told by the Repubs the "game" will be over. Just the savings alone from all the bureaucracy needed to determine who is entitled to what and how much and all the wasted time to check qualifications.....it's crazy. Simply crazy.

If one is ill they go to a doctor/hospital and receive treatment. Beginning and end of story. No insurance companies. No committees/boards/panels, no doctors checking on what is covered, no negotiations between doctors and insurance companies.....think about it for a moment. Medical professionals having to deal with a legal contract while trying to heal the sick. It's insane. Talk about a make-work project. Lawyers to draw up contracts. More lawyers to interpret them. The communication between medical personnel and staff communicating with insurance companies and their staff to find out what a panel or VP decided what is and what isn't covered.

People complain about a loss of jobs. Is the goal of medical care to heal the sick or provide jobs? The lawyers drawing up contracts and the clerical staff filling out forms and those involved in the back and forth negotiations of what's covered or not covered may as well stay home and just send them a check. Even that will save money as those folks won't have to pay for transportation to and from work!

Give Obama his majority, support him in implementing a one payer system and enjoy a minimum of 1/3 savings off the current cost of medical and get the people involved in the current archaic medical system doing something worth their while with their time.

What everyone on the Right ignores in the Medicare debate, is that the program takes all the high risk patients, leaving the healthy 'cash cows' to the for profit insurance industry.

The Public Option will send millions of these cash cows to Medicare. Problem solved.

Of course, all of Congress would have to find other avenues for investment income, as Big Pharma, and Big Ins. will no longer be a winner.
