Rasmussen: Romney regains the lead nationally

Hail Voltaire
Mitt Romney leads President Obama in Thursday’s national daily tracking survey from conservative polling outlet Rasmussen.

Romney leads Obama 47 to 43 percent in the poll. The poll differs from most other recent polling. According to the Real Clear Politics average of polls, Obama has a 3.4-point national lead.

Obama led Romney 47 to 45 percent in Monday’s daily tracking poll. It was only the second time in the last two months that Obama reached the 47 percent mark, according to Rasmussen and only the second time in the last month the poll has shown Obama in the lead.

“President Obama appears to be enjoying a bounce in the polls following last Friday’s jobs report,” Rasmussen noted at the time.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics reported Friday the economy added 163,000 jobs in July, more than economists expected and more than the economy added in May and June combined, although the unemployment rate ticked up to 8.3 percent.

“The president enjoyed a bounce immediately following [the] release of last week’s job report,” Rasmussen said in Thursday’s note. “However, the bounce has faded, and the race is back to where it was just before Friday’s report.”

The Rasmussen tracking poll has a 3-point margin of error.

Essentially it'll come down to the wire. Lot of people are unhappy with Obama, but Mitt doesn't seem to have the sway for the independents.

Basically, yes, but I do believe the tides will begin to turn in early September, once the campaigns are in full swing. Obama will fall behind and never return to a lead.

I think he's a shitty pollster, but I think he's objective. He's frequently right when the other groups are all off.

Hope Solo, post #8

I mean, please cite why you believe Rasmussen is frequently incorrect in his polling. A good example would be a collection of pre-election polls compared to the actual results. I know you think polls are teh fakez anyway, but humor me.

Where did I say anything about his polling? I mocked his objectivity. He wrote for World Nut Daily. He lied about being a conservative. That, among other things, influences my opinion. Want a cite for my opinion? Go google 'Scott Rasmussen bias' and start there.
