I guess they're being punished for criticizing Mittens for being such an ass.

I thought it was an incredible opening ceremony there were many here that were woried that it was going to be deeply embarrassing after the London bus and Boris Johnson at the 2008 Olympics. The bit where it seemed that her Maj was being parachuted in by James Bond was just priceless.

I loved it! Although Bejiing had more glitz, this had more story and humor. Mr. Bean was priceless, and the bit with the Queen/Bond was terrific.

Congrats to the Brits for hours of entertainment!
 
I didn't watch, but the skydive sounds funny. I would have enjoyed that part and the James Bond stuff. Are the sick kids part of a Mary Poppins theme? That would make sense. The headlines make it seem strange. Oh, Matt, you stick in the mud!

The leaningright family thought it was good too. The wife, boy and I watched it then got up this morning to watch the bike race...my boy's idea. I would as soon watch water polo as the bike race. :)

I missed it. Took the Mrs to see a Chicago/Doobie Brothers double header. Great concert.

How's that? Cav's a field sprint guy and to win a field sprint you have to have one. All the good field spring teams , GB, Germany, Belgium had targets on there backs. Team GB did a great job of protecting Cav and if it had been a 120 mile race they probably could have pulled it off.

I don't disagree, he was very bitter afterwards about the lack of support from other teams notably Australia.
