they want the managers to have clean hands and are worried about the risk to the institutions reputations if the managers do not have clean hands

not to mention potential fines that would reduce profits

Hedge fund managers? Not that I am aware of. Big Banks... absolutely they did.

why anyone invests with the big Wall St. banks is beyond me. Bunch of crooks. (IMO)
