My point (one that I articulated quite poorly, so let's start fresh) is that women rarely get ahead by being outspoken feminists. Like it or not, a million or so years of human evolution has ingrained differences into the sexes. Mayer recognizes this, and she was able to climb to the top by embracing and celebrating these differences. The problem is that the word 'feminist' has been hijacked by the likes of Gloria Steinem and Molly Yard. Do you think identifying with that brand of feminism is beneficial to a woman's career prospects?
I don't remember Andrea Dworkin, Katherine McKinnon, Betty Friedan, Naomi Wolf, Erica Jong or Shere Hite running companies.
She is #20, Fortune 500 females.
She doesn't consider herself a feminist because of the eat negativity associated with the word, but she sure enjoys the benefits!
I wonder how she feels about all the peope that think pregnancy will "change" her? I wonder how she feels about all the people who think she will fail to turn Yahoo around.
Yep.
There is some BIG value.
Nice goin'....
irony.
i commented directly on the thread....what does mr. smarter than everyone comment on? yurt.
LOL
Are you able to support your assertion with evidence?

And your point is? Beside the one you have been sharpening on your head today!
Hijacked, and people like you, embrace it.
It is why it is negative, because you only define feminism by the more radical forms of it and don'trealize how many women quietly work behind the scenes to promote women's rights, so you can claim they are psychotic and dismiss the movement a a bunch of crazies. Women should stay in their place and not think of themselves to be like men. The world was a better place when women knew their place. Women who wish equality are loud mouthed and radical. Women who push back just need to sit down and shut up and let men rule the world, right?
How is that irony? You prove again & again that all you do is project. You say that all I do is snipe; meanwhile, it's all you've done since I've seen you post today.
Meanwhile, I spent the day talking about SS & defense cuts, capitalism, gun control, etc. You're a vapid poster, Yurt.
Let's be clear, though. The word wasn't 'hijacked' by Steinem. It was DEFINED by her for our generation and the next one, and gained traction and notoriety as a result. The insecure penises who felt threatened by the traction had to warp the definition and demonize its proponents. The quaking penii reveal themselves every time they describe feminists as 'loud mouthed'. They prefer barbies who don't talk back.

talk like this doesn't really help women's rights. it this type of bullshit that you and darla spew that causes a big rift between genuine issues.
like it or not, it is people like you who get heard the most.
Penii is not the plural of penis, although the phrase quaking penii does have an evocative ring to it.
