Pass drug test to get assistance...???

we're still talking about the differences of a private company and a government agency.

WELL; since it's the money of those employees of the private companies that those wanting to use the government agency, they intend to use; it makes sense since the employee is subject to drug testing, that the person who is getting the employees money should be under the same onus.

By the way; those in the Government sector jobs are subject to testing also and those aren't private companies. :D

in KY if you need pain medications you must first pass a drug test.
So do not break you leg or something if you have smoked pot in the last 60 days.

Damn druggies just have to suffer.

Imagine a medical marijuana state patient that breaks a leg in Ky.
Here's the conversation: :palm:

Patient: " I need pain pills for my broken leg"
EM Tech: "can't give them to you, because you test positive for cannibus.
Patient: "But I got a prescription for that"
EM Tech:"Doesn't matter your precription doesn't matter -do you have weed to smoke now?"
Patient: "A little, not enough for pain"
EM Tech: "Doesn't matter; now you under arrest too."

What about a person that smoked pot a month ago and then is in a fire and has massive burns. Under state law he can be prescribed NO narcotic pain relivers.

Did I miss something? I thought they shelved that whole piece of legislation once that amendment had been offered.

I know in AZ that if you take a Government job that you must pass a drug test and are subject to random drug testing, throughout your employment.

I can't remember right now, but didn't I bring this up with regards to random testing of law enforcement and the union reps went nuts? also, I know I remember reading something about an amendment to the florida legislation to test the state reps and it was tabled instead of voted on, or something like that.

Oh for Christ's sake...Now we are just being silly.

i used humor as an example of how stupid the Ky. law is - test for weed, and you get no pain pills. Ya. kinna "silly" unless one tokes up and breaks a leg.

Then it's not so silly, is it?

I can't take seriously that you are saying that if you have weed in your system, then they won't treat you for emergency pain like a broken leg...You'd have to show me that law, I don't believe it.

You know as well as I do that those who make and sign off on the laws are never going to hold themselves to the same standards that they do the workers or public.

While changes need to be made, complaining on an obscure message board (sorry Damo) isn't going to affect anything.

This is nothing more then going to the extreme and trying to say it's the standard.

The standard is, as explained to me, is if you're going to use MJ for pain control, then you can't be going to your doctor and asking for prescriptions for pain meds. Emergencies were never considered to be part of the guidelines.

The reason is that pain meds and MJ don't make a good mix and if someone is found to be taking both and is in an accident, someone is going to be sued and the doctors would rather not take that risk.

don't know the law, speculating that they prolly would give you immediate relief in an emergency. But don't take anything for granted, the states are moving to drug data bases, and weed IS illegal -even in medical marijuana states - even as Obama is going after medical marijuana.

The DEA acts on a Fed level, so I can't say for sure, but the state law that tests for any Rx. drug before routine pain mangement, does seem to hold water.

So you get your shot of morphine in an emergency ( in all probability), for chronic non-emergency pain? you're fucked.( as in NO)

It is now law in KY.
If you fail the drug test for any illegal drug or opiate not prescribed to you you will NOT be prescribed any opiates.

Well, probably not good to give Alcoholics a beer when they are at the family reunion either....But I think you are out to lunch...I have a sister, and a daughter in the medical field. One is a nurse, and one is a Physician Assistant. They both tell me that in emergency situations the goal is stabilization, including pain management..So your hyperbolic, hysterical claims are at best panic driven, at worst flat out lies.
