So Mitt Didn't Leave Bain in 1999 After All

By electing senators, representatives and a president who haven't whored themselves to the financial industry.

Don't sweat it. It won't happen for a long time yet.

I thought that is what Obama said he was....Then there was the truth....

Wall Street is investing heavily in Barack Obama.

Although the Democratic presidential hopeful has vowed to raise capital gains and corporate taxes, financial industry bigs have contributed almost twice as much to Obama as to GOP rival John McCain, a Daily News analysis of campaign records shows.

Looks like he duped them, and you....How's that make you feel?

I'm smart enough to know there is a lot I don't know. So even if I don't agree with something I am usually open-minded enough to at least hear it out. Thus my curiousity of how you could legislate capital flows in the marketplace as you would like or envision.

I would assume that the intricasies of such regulation would need to be addressed by those savvy enough to decipher the deliberately-indecipherable terms and definitions of the practices currently raping the economy. I'm not one of those savvy people. However, I am smart enough to judge the results of such practices as immoral, whether they're legal or not. Greed and its parasites are very protective of the methods by which they ensure that the flow of 'hosts' is unabated. It will take committed effort by the People and leadership in government that does the Peoples' bidding - not the financial industry's - to take on that challenge.

I thought that is what Obama said he was....Then there was the truth....

Fine, since I wasn't duped. I didn't vote for Obama, idiot. He let us all know whose side he was on while he was still a senator and granted immunity to the telecoms. He reminded us whose side he was on when he made Summers and Geithner part of his team.

Your ASSumptions speak volumes about you.

Well then you must know more than the NYTimes....And a word on that, the Grey Lady certainly could be categorized as unapologetic, and unabashedly in Obama's corner....So that makes this article disturbing for those on the liberal side trying to hammer these lies about Romney....

This is what demo campaigns do when they are faced with a clear loss at the polls...A couple of claims here, a couple of highly edited clips there, and then start the echo chamber....Well, no one, not even the Times is buying it....FAIL!

So he lied to the SEC. Maybe he can get Martha's old cell. I hear she had it nicely decorated.

Pulling rank again? Really working well for you, SF. I'll put it to you this way, when your argument breaks down to the point where you are arguing vague generalities about an industry in general it probably isn't going to well for the specific person you are defending. I mean, like, if what Bain did was so totally awesome, why is Mitt running like hell from it at this point?

ROFLMAO... all you and the left wing parrots are doing is speaking in vague generalities of the industry. I try and point out where you are wrong and you respond like the above. Again Dung... they are in it to profit. They profit far more if the companies survive long term. What part of that are you failing to comprehend? It isn't a vague generality... it is a fact. They come in to companies that are very likely about to go under and they try to make them work. They end up getting good deals on the buys and if they are successful in turning the company around everyone wins. If they are unsuccessful, then they all lose to a degree. Yes, in some cases the return on money is still going to be there for the Bain's of the world even in case of the BK. But Bain would make more on their money if the companies succeed. Thus it is in their interest for that to happen.

And you can pretend to be a Johnson support all you want, but you know and I know what will happen when you step into that little box on election day.

and we all 'know' you are going to bend over and take it in the six every chance you get for your beloved master.

Makes me feel like they knew Obama was going to whup the old fart.

Of course...

With the frenzy of lies y'all had the country worked up into? McCain never had a chance. Repubs didn't want another wishy/washy RINO, and Axlerod (aka. Snidley Whiplash) and teams lies, and Alinsky tactics, Obama took the country in the most cynical of ways....He outright lied.

I mean come on Howey, You gotta know that Gay marriage would still be in the closet so to speak, if it weren't for Obama needing deflection from the brewing scandals.

Ohhhh, Supercandy!

Why did Mittstorm lie?

Sorry Darla, that was my bad. I just ate lunch and almost made myself sick as well. No idea what I was thinking.

I guess this is where I'm lacking imagination what type of reforms would you like to see instituted?

There are lots of private equity companies and to my knowledge 2000% returns are quite rare. So do you legislate to prevent an extreme from happening?

They made 20 times their original investment... over 8 or so years. They increased sales by over 600% in the same time. But you should ignore that. Also be sure to ignore that the parent company of Ampad was going down and was forced to sell, which as you well know, firesales don't tend to get the best pricing for the seller... but ignore that too. Also, please ignore the fact that the employees kept their jobs far longer because of Bain than they otherwise would have. In other words, ignore anything that might be construed as 'good' and only focus on the 'bad'.

"In the Aug. 12, 2011, federal disclosure form filed as part of his presidential bid, he said, "Mr. Romney retired from Bain Capital on February 11, 1999 to head the Salt Lake Organizing Committee. Since February 11, 1999, Mr. Romney has not had any active role with any Bain Capital entity and has not been involved in the operations of any Bain Capital entity in any way."

In testimony "Romney noted that he regularly traveled back to Massachusetts. "[T]here were a number of social trips and business trips that brought me back to Massachusetts, board meetings, Thanksgiving and so forth," he said."

Romney's sworn testimony was given as part of a hearing to determine whether he had sufficient residency status in Massachusetts to run for governor.

Romney testified that he "remained on the board of the Staples Corporation and Marriott International, the LifeLike Corporation" at the time.

Was Staples not a BAIN company?

Please cite the SEC rules Romney violated, then post proof that he has been charged and convicted of this that you say he did...See, I think you are splitting hairs as a lay person, not knowing full well whether it is something or not.

Are you that scared of Romney?
