Raise The Minimum Wage!

Really, people 20 and over are high school kids?

What planet do you live on moron? You know, wait a minute...it took you until 20 years of age to get out of high school? NOW we are getting somewhere.

Okay...this explains a lot. A lot.

he stated 'high school and college'

Do try to keep up

You see dearest little Darla, when I quote something you say, such as:

and then I reply with...

that would give you a pretty good idea what it has to do with.

I know you are easily confused and it is hard for you to keep up, but do at least try.

Okay let's keep this simple so my tiny lady brain can follow it.

The following statement is T (for True) or F (for False)

"thats simply because the majority of people earning only minimum wage ARE children...."

It's a good thing I haven't seen Gilligan's Island reruns playing on any stations lately. I think if I were to come across one I might kill myself laughing after this.

is it a liberal disorder that prevented you from reading "and college kids" or was it simply reflexive dishonesty?......

Since 3/4's of people earning minimum wage are 20 or older, I have no idea what high school kids have to do with this. And someone still defending this factually incorrect statement:

"thats simply because the majority of people earning only minimum wage ARE children...."

as being "The truth" has no business calling anyone dishonest. I mean, you've exposed yourself as an outright liar. A partisan so dishonest you'll make up any story to avoid admitting one simple fact: you were informed by a right wing hack, either on FOX or Breitbert's site or some other cesspool, that the majority of minimum wage earners are children, you repeated that, possibly in good faith, when you found out it was wrong, you began to lie.

Just the facts.

All of SF's emo posts sound just like Lovey now. It is unavoidable. But really, I don't mind because it's funny! Sheltered, hoity-toity Lovey Howell was hilariously shallow and dim....and so are the emo 14-year-old-girl's rants. So there ya go. ;)

You are getting caught up in minutia... or maybe you are the one doing the catching up... but in any even, it simply doesn't matter WHO is getting minimum wage.... For sake of argument, let's say that every single recipient is struggling to support a family of 4 on minimum wage... how is it helping them to create inflation which will ultimately absorb more than the temporary gain in their pay? Isn't that sort of a cruel trick to play on these people? Give them $20 more a week, but now things cost $25 more a week? Doesn't sound like we are helping at all, and when we look at the statistics for poverty now, versus 40 years ago when we started with this idea, we aren't any better off... we may actually be WORSE off.

It matters to me. "Most people making minimum wage are children" is a lie disseminated by the right wing. If it didn't matter, they wouldn't bother with that. It matters alright.

As for your thesis, I have read plenty of studies which showed that raising the minimum wage actually creates jobs because people with very low incomes are most likely to spend money as soon as they get it. This actually helps the economy. I have never seen a reputable study on how or whether it impacts inflation, but the "lets pay them nothing so no one has any money and there's no inflation" is not really an economic view I'm sympathetic to or believe is good for the country.

ROTFLMAO!!!

OMG if it were anyone else I would start to feel sorry for them, but nope, not in SF"s case. He has earned the constant skewering he has been getting from you!

Well, in all fairness, it's time he was told how he sounds when he writes in that debutante parlance. 'Lovey Howell-speak' doesn't make him sound smarter, it makes him a laughing stock. Maybe he'll up his game now? We'll see.

I just posted one from the Chicago Fed....Good grief

Here's another factor that hasn't been touched on, the cost of business to do business. Okay, you've increased the MW, and then... those who make just above MW demand their increases, and so on... all of that is factored and accounted and increases the price of goods and services to consumers, but also to businesses. Not only are they paying the extra money for the wage increase, but everything they purchase to produce whatever it is they do, has also increased in price. And all of THIS extra money HAS to come from someplace. Again... no magic money tree... it will have to come from the consumer in the form of even higher prices. Then... We have the old people and poor, who live on a fixed income amount... what to do there? Everything has had to increase in price to offset the increase in the MW... so they too, will have to get some kind of increase, or they will suffer even more. At some point, perhaps a new tax will have to be passed, because money has to come from someplace, we don't have a magic money tree.

There are only a few options for where the extra money can come from. Most notably, is the actual cost of products, good, and services. That is where the bulk of the money will come from, consumers. As I stated earlier, another option, is the elimination of jobs. Some businesses might be in such a competitive market, they simply CAN'T raise their prices enough to compensate, so they choose to eliminate some jobs. This means, we are working harder to do the same amount of work, for more money that buys less. The only OTHER option, is known as 'quantitative easing' and that's where the Fed just starts printing up worthless currency... now THAT can be what Liberals are thinking is the 'magic money tree' here, and how they rationalize all of this as being of benefit to us. If that is the case, you can take my experiment from earlier, with the 10 $1 bills, and start adding fake monopoly money... If you ever have actual value more than $10, you've accomplished your goal! What you do is, devalue the dollar. Which means.... the dollar will buy less and less, and then... less and even less. Until finally, you are carrying a wheelbarrow of cash to the store to buy a few basic food items.

NONE of the options sound like we are "helping" society. They ALL sound as if we are doing something detrimental to our economy, and ultimately detrimental to society, and we are doing so for no other reason than to be political and petty, and act like little children who don't understand there are not magic money trees.

OMG!. Simplefreak is now defending PiMP's lies. Talk about partisan hack bullshit, you are approaching yurtism with this post.

Dear Rune... did he or did he not state high school and college students?

If you weren't so ignorant, you would realize that I didn't defend his statistics. I simply corrected Darla who is once again lying about what someone said.

Dearest little Darla, you obviously cannot keep up... but I will give it one more try.

He called people in their 20's children. You stated 'people in their 20's can't be called children' (we shall ignore the absurdity of that comment of yours). I then stated that the ACA states that children can stay on their parents insurance until 26.

Do you see yet? I was showing you another example of people in their 20's being called children.

I know you got lost again at 'Dearest', but if you keep trying really hard, you might make it through all of the above. Then you can take it to your masters and learn what it is you are supposed to say in return. Or maybe Code Pink can give you something to chant, that way you won't feel so overwhelmed.
